Why would it end then? I don't think so but so early compared to what other planets and suns life why would ours be so short? not saying anybody's wrong or right.

Give me only 1 single good reason why the world is supposed to end 2012. One. More if you want, but then I have to dismantle more silly ideas...

samiel made a right observation, the world was supposed to end so many times, almost once a year, why would this one suddenly be true?

the world ended last year in may, it ended in 2000 because computers weren't going to be able to deal with the millenium change, so of course the world is going to end in december.

The world did not end in 2000. If it did, AG wouldn't exist, and neither would this thread or your post. I also think the world won't end in 2012 for the same reason it didn't end in 2000.

See above quote response. Also, the following equation should disprove any ideas that the world will end because the Mayan calendar is ending:

Mayan calendar =/= world

I just don't see why anyone would associate the ending of the Mayan calendar with the end of the world.

Internet murdered sarcasm again... I don't think he seriously claimed that the world ended in 2000. Logically.

I just don't see why anyone would associate the ending of the Mayan calendar with the end of the world.

That is, if the Mayan calendar would end. Which it doesn't. People misunderstood the cyclical nature of the calendar and got all crazy about some end-of-the-world predictions that have been made by idiots and the media, not the mayan.

No, because at closest, it would be a world event, but if it isn't actually going to happen, than it's not an event.

And directed to the OP: NO. There is no reason for it to. My calender ends every December the 31st, does that mean New Years is the end of the world. No. So why would we consider and excessively long calender's end any different?

Well here's my opinion:

It's just as stupid to say the world WONT end in 2012, as it is to say the world WILL end.

I don't believe that the world has any additional intention to end in 2012 that it wouldn't have any other day, but who the hell knows if it will or wont end 2012?

Who KNOWS that there ISN'T a giant invisible dinosaur monster in space preparing to eat the universe in 2012?

I'm sure that there isn't. But.. my point is that I'm not actually sure. And no one can ever be sure. And that's a little scary. :|
