I'll say! You have two #4's and no #5!

I don't have five favorites to name, but my favorite book of all time is The Catcher in the Rye. Aside from the fact that Holden Caulfield drank like a fish, I felt that I could really relate to that character when I read the book in high school.

And don't worry, I'm not going to try and assassinate John Lennon!

As some of you may know...I'm in love with this time period and book. So for me it is Romance of the Three Kingdoms with a sweep for my top 5

1. Ender's Game
2. Ender's shadow
3. Speaker for the Dead
4. Shadow of the Giant
5. Children of the Mind.

Rest of the series are undecided. I know I've read other good books but I can't think of them at the moment.

In no order,

Warriors (a book about cats)
Artemis fowl
Redwall
The Chronicles of Narnia
Green Eggs & Ham

I lied. It is in a particular order. The order being no order until the last book listed, which is my favorite by far.

Okay, I'll be serious, as I said earlier:

1-Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong
2- The Knights of The Order by Ernle Bradford
3- Dangerous Tastes -The Strory of Spices by Andrew Dalby
4- A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
5- To the Ends of the Earth - The Great Travel and Trade Routes of Human History by Irene M. Frank & David M. Browstone

1- It's a novel about Chinese Warlords who fought for the control of China from 206 BC to 220 AD. A game series have been released by Koei and thta's how I learned about it. I have a series of book in for 4 volumes. I love it!

2- The story of the Knights of St-Johns who created the first organized hospital during the Crusades and continued when they moved to Rhodes and, after being expelled by the Ottoman, inherited of the island of Malta and fortified it.
Many historic battles (mostly naval) occurred around, and on it during the Middle Ages.
They successfully fought against the Barbary Coast pirates who allied with the Turks and they are in good part responsible for stopping the Ottoman Empire expansion to the rest of Europe and the western part of the Mediterranean Sea.

3- An unofficial encyclopedia of Spices, their origins, the battles fought for them between the Ottoman Empire, the Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, English and so on. It also has recipes. A fascinating book to me.

4- Look on Wikipedia, I'm getting lazy.

5- This is a description using maps and stories about the terrestrial Caravan, Spices, Silk, and slave routes used throughout the ages.

The Wheel of Time.
Best fantasy series I have yet to encounter

Top 5 series:

Sword of Truth
Wheel of Time
Ender's Game
Dark Tower
Dune

Top 5 books:

Faith of the Fallen
Children of the Mind
Towers of Midnight
A Blight of Mages
The Stand

I'd highly recommend reading the series I put (although unless you read a lot you're likely to be overwhelmed in page count at first...) and while most of my favorite books are apart of those series, The Stand is not.
