i personal dont believe it but many groups have predicted it ex: mayans,hopi indians,the bible St Malachy predicted the world will end with the 112th pope; pope bendict is our 111th pope. Why would all these people predict the same date?
i think it might happen..hey they said theyre civilization was gonna end on a day and the "White Men" came and destroyed them all..they were right!! so maybe theyre right here..we will know on the day,and also how can we protect ourselves? will we need guns hazmat suits or what to survive?
Yeah it might drown like it did thousands of years ago.You guys remember the day when god drowned earth.This might happen because of global warming.God can drown us right now.But he's seen us destroy ourselves.
Ah, it won't happen... but we shouldn't really be worrying about these things, we should just live our lives. Just because the Mayans predicted it doesn't mean it will be true, they based it all on religion. Do any of you follow the Mayans religion? (No idea what it is so maybe some of you do.)

The Mayans didn't really make it all on religion...They were a highly advanced society, who created the first accurate lunar calendar, if I'm not mistaken. Any form of calendar that they had would have been based off of the moon's cycles.

That would be the Aztecs. The Mayans are the Central/South American race that mysteriously disappeared without a trace, other than few left over. Most clues to their history/disappearance/society in general were in books that were burnt by a Spanish priest who had attempted to convert them to Christianity. He did so after he found them practicing their "heathen" religion, as well as Christianity.
Or even btr, if life ended Dawn of the dead style... That is as long as im one of the remaining ppl, and not those stupid guys who gets caught right away lol.
wow i am studying religions in my world history class... all of the aztecs, myans, incas and all them died when spanish settlers came i just learned that today! they didnt dissapear without a trace... also the myan calender ends on december 21 2012 it doesnt mean it completly ends the long count starts over!!!
there are millions of "rophecies" that state that the world will end. i peronally think that is wrong. i know that the famed Nostradomas(excuse the spelling error)prophesised this. it hasn't ended before, and it probably won't end in 4 years.
thats the day when our calendar "starts over" all the panets and other celestial bodies are the same as when it started thats it. Also i think it december 21 2001 most people just sat in 2012 refering to january first i could be mistaken however.
