I guessed you missed the invention of the light bulb. There's this little thing we like to call a flashlight. Im guessing you went into a dark room, set up a camera and turned on a flash light and waved it around for 20 seconds or so
But you idea is flawed, I would have to point the flashlight exactly straight at the camera as I am waving it around in order for the only thing to be visible is the shining circle, and not the rest of the light.
Uhh... If you want to use one of the dictonary definitions which says that a foreign person is an alien then yes.
I do believe there is extraterrestrial life somewhere else in the universe. I mean our odds or being created was like 1 in 100 trillion or more so ya there's just has to be another civilization out there.
i think that there is a possibility that aliens could exist. i think its kinda stupid to assume we are the only planet with life in the whole universe.
I'm sure there's not any other life in our galaxy. But 100% sure there's life somewhere since there's over 500 billion galaxies with who knows how many planets in them.
I'd bet that there's some type of life (probably similar to bacteria) out there due to the size of the universe.
I highly doubt we were ever visited by aliens. The majority of UFO sightings are around military bases. There are a lot of military test sites in the southwest and many more throughout the rest of the US. Planes that can do this and this were unthinkable until recently. Now they're at airshows and are no longer completely classified. They've been flying since the 60s! The government was probably like "Oh crap, how can we keep these things secret when we need to do long-range tests and training and stuff?" But then people jumped to conclusions and yelled "ALIENS!!! OMG!!!" and the government was like "...sure lets let them think that. We can continue testing." But then the public thought the government was covering up aliens and the government was like "Now what? We can't simply show these awesome planes to the public, and we don't have any aliens so... lets start dispelling those rumors by saying it was other stuff like weather baloons."
None of this would've happened if they'd made those new inventions public when they first came out.
I think "Aliens" aren't 'real' but have the potential to be. I mean i agree with Emperor with the bacteria theory. However i believe there's potential to live in space, and it could happen. If you think of how bacteria has formed into more on our planet, it could do the same on others.
Who knows, we haven't seen them? But, I think it's possible.
Also, as to our being visited by aliens -- There is an argument against abiogenesis, some people believe that life/organic compounds were brought to earth from space. [Not to mention, their evidence seems to be quite more reasonable, seeing as people that try to make amino acids [connected protein] in little glass bubble thingies usually fail, whereas we have a meteor from the sky that has amino acids on it.
There are more stars in the universe than there is grains of sand on this whole entire planet. Each star is a sun. For life not to exist else where is extremely and highly un-probable. Even if its a bacteria it is still considered life (Alien). Intelligent life I believe exist just on a smaller scale rather than bacteria being on a larger scale.
I'm sure there is extra-terrestrial life, but I really do not believe we have ever witnessed any visitations. I definitely agree with TheAtheist; well said.
