It is believed that the universe is infinite with no begining or end. There are a lot more stars than what you just said there.
His number of 1 billion is the estimate for this galaxy. Also the universe being infinite is the result of it's shape. So there is still a finite amount of matter in the universe.
Well considering how vast the universe is I find it hard to believe that there is not a single other planet capable of sustaining life. And by life I mean intelligent life. But part of me still is skeptical of there actually being intelligent life out there.
I think aliens are real because it can't be possbible that we are the only intelligent lifeforms in the universe.

There are tons of Aliens around here, my mom is one... well she was till she got her citizenship. But since you guys mean outer space aliens... no they are not real. Alien are definitely real, just think in the entire Universe are we the only living beings? Some living organism it might be simple, like bacteria but if its out there it can be termed an alien. I definitely think that aliens exist , just think about it, entire universe, is Earth the only place were life exists. Scientists have estimate over a million planets like Earth, atleast a few of them must contain life. Also a small search on the internet can yield a few results(although most of them are crap) if you research well enough you will find a few notable events which when pieced together can mean a lot.
