I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.

They could of repented before their deaths.

WELL. If God was all knowing, he'd know they wouldn't, now wouldn't he?

you could ONLY get into heaven if you have repented for your sins and you have accepted the lord Jesus Christ into your heart.

Exactly. So when all you Christians get to heaven say hi to Hitler for me.

Sorry, but I can't find any truth in a God that despises evil, yet not only allows it to exist, but that allows those that commit it to enjoy eternal paradise simply because they telepathically apologize.

Im no theist, but i believe that you are meant to genuinely be sorry for your sins to be redeemed. You cant just say sorry with your fingers crossed behind your back. God is supposedly omniscient after all.

Then what is a prayer? It's a thought with your fingers crossed behind your back in hopes it is heard and answered. And why is it that if you pray for forgiveness it's always answered, yet no other prayer is? Seems fishy to me. Sounds like a bunch of well wishing created by men to allow them to remove guilt and responsibility from their lives, not a tool to communicate with an entity that is omniscient and omnipresent.

Asking for forgiveness is different then asking for material items of for extending someone's life that is meant to die.

Oh I understand that. However I just don't think the system is something that would come from the mind of anyone other than a mortal man. Sure, God will forgive any sinner of anything as long as he sincerely apologizes, but screw those starving kids, or the people being raped and tortured and murdered. Yeah, he doesn't care about them, but he'll save their aggressors if they are sorry. Sounds like bullsh*t to me.

He cares. But all of those things come from free will.

So what does a murder or r*pe victim tell his/her aggressor when they get to heaven and see them? Sound like eternal paradise to me....

Or are they segregated in heaven? Does god keep the repentant people who committed various evil and wicked acts away from their victims? Seems like a major logistical nightmare to me...

God is ablt to prevent evil, but that would take away free will.

'My son is going to pick up a gun and shoot someone in the head. I have the power to stop him but I won't because that would take away his free will, and I love him to much to do that. Instead I will have him sent to a place where he will be tortured for the crime.'

Yeah the free will argument makes perfect sense.

LOL Mage... Don't you know logic and common sense are not applicable when dealing with religion? (mostly because it defies all logic and common sense, but no need to split hairs on the subject.)

THIS SH*T IS HOW WARS GET STARTED

F*ck man let people believe what they want to believe, its no competition, I am christian methodist but I'm not a strong christian methodist, I believe in God and our lord Jesus Christ but I don't go to church and I do find my self questioning the existence of Gods of any kind, but I still believe.

Anyway if you want to p*ss people off keep making threads like these.

Yes, religious intolerance has that effect...

I believe in God and our lord Jesus Christ but I don't go to church

Why do you believe? And why do you not place yourself in worship of the deity in which you claim to believe?

I do find my self questioning the existence of Gods of any kind, but I still believe.

Umm.. sorry for pointing it out, but doubt seems contradictory to belief. It seems to me that if you believe then there is no doubt. You see, belief is the absence of doubt. Sooooo, if you doubt then by definition you do not believe. I'd like you explain please, statements like these always intrigue me.

Anyway if you want to p*ss people off keep making threads like these.

Actually, this is what this section of the forum is for, that's why it's called the World Events, Politics, and Religion section. If it bothers you then you are more than welcome to roam the other, less controversial areas of the forum.

What doesn't make sense about that?

everything, you should not be eternally punished for something you did within about a 70 year or so period.

I think their are limits to how far free will let you go though, thats what laws do is restrain your will.
