I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.
Wow it's been up for about 6 months and it's still going on and hasn't been locked? Geez. Well anyway I'm agnostic which is a little different. It means I don't believe in God but I don't believe that there is no God due to lack of evidence. I believe in the Big Bang Theory, but I believe some higher power, maybe God, started the Big Bang and sat back and allowed the universe to expand on its own. Basically, being agnostic is almost like not caring about your religion, which I don't really. The creator of this thread needs to be a little more open minded as all it seems he was trying to accomplish was to create a war between Christians and Atheists on an online game forum.
pixie, good luck with that physics thing. But I admit that I am not a physicist, but I do have enough of an understanding of what theories are presented to know what they are. When I said that things in physics are not always as they seem, I was not erroneous. The Theory of Relativity, along with some of Einstein's other papers, stata that nothing can travel faster than light. This was widely accepted until just recently, when a group of scientists discovered quantum entanglement-when two particles are...well...entangled nonphysically, that any change made to one particle made to one particle happens instantaneously, with absolutely no travel time. That reaction travels faster than light, disproving Einstein's widely accepted theory that nothing can travel in excess of the speed of light. That was the point that I was trying to make, that physics is a heavily dynamic science, and it is quite possible that we are missing a crucial piece to the puzzle.
Really, this thread was brought back form the dead?
It was on the last page of the forums, so I revived it to prove a point. And people responded to it as if it was still fresh and new without skipping a beat.
There are plenty of other religions that involve some sort of deity. Why that one only? Couldn't you say God vs. Atheism? That is the real battle of belief system we're talking about here.
Well, if you're trying to generalize like that, then it wouldn't be God vs. Atheism. Buddhists deny the existence of God, but still are a major religion
Please don't start this again it started and ended a dozen pages back. Since the OP was a christian I assume he wanted a thread that dealt with personal issues, making the thread a more focused argument.
