I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.

My idea has evidence, theirs is just a stupid book written years ago, and their ancestors believed it, so the next generation believed it.

We may have seen snapshots of deep-space images, such as the brilliant shot of galaxies 12 billion light years away, but to say that we have explored deep into space is a bit of a farce.

We haven't even gotten to another planet in our own solar system yet. We can't even begin to comprehend the majesty of space, even with something as wonderful as Hubble.

Basically, no matter what is said, this thread will go on forever. As long as there are people that support an idea, there will be people who are against it. People are entilted to their own belifs, and they always have been. Contless arguements have been made about religion, and very few have been solved. There will always be people who are christian and there will always be people who are atheist. It is pretty much a never ending debate. No matter what side introduces, there will always be different ideas, therefore there will always be arguements. This thread is basically a supporter of those areguments, and I wouln't be surprised to see the debate still going on 6 months for now. Bottom line, there will never be no definate 'better' religion, because there will always be people supporting and argueing for their chosen belifs.

That's true, but generally I just try to defend myths about Christianity and try to understand atheism better. Very rarely do I actually get into a debate about which is correct or not. Usually it's just discussion, which I find interesting.

Dude, we've seen wayyyy out but the universe is expanding (if you believe in the big bang) at a speed so fast it ridiculous, I'd bet we haven't even seen 0.0000000000000000000000000001% of the universe.

But compared to our very very small planet, that's a lot.

I also, try to defend my beliefs too, and I try to make atheists seem less jerks, but sometimes i end up being one too.

Comparatively yes, but to an ant exploring a park might seem like they've explored a lot of the Earth if you get what i mean by that, I really doubt we will ever explore more than 1% of space unless a way to "warp" is developed.

My idea has evidence, theirs is just a stupid book written years ago, and their ancestors believed it, so the next generation believed it.

Now don't be to harsh the bible is one of the most factual books in history, at least what can be proven about it. However your ideas do have more evidence except your idea that there is no God there is no evidence either way on that.

Example 2

No matter the intentions, people on oppisite sides will almost always argueing over beliefs. Just look at this thread: 148 pages filled with people trying to prove their point. No matter how just your reasoning may sound, there will always be people who disagree. Therefore, the best solution would be to let people to say what they want or introduce new facts or ideas, but not to argue. But, then again introducing new facts/ideas is what provokes an arguement, so this is basically a never ending prosses...

Maybe I over exaggerated that one, the point is that we've explored a lot into space,

Actually, I've had quite a few interesting discussions with atheists and agnostics, and we've all walked away happy because neither one provoked the other. Plus keep in mind, arguing can be just plain fun, because generally the people who result to crude attacks provide the weakest arguments, logic, and reasoning.

Ture, but what I am trying to say is that there are plently of people who take the slightest indication as an arguement-starter. There are alot of people who have fun with it, but there are alot of poeple who take it way to seriously too.

Yeah, you're right. Seen too many people upset over simple misunderstandings. I've been on the other end before.

Gotta agree with you Thingthing as long as theres someone who still believes in god this argument won't end because for some strange reason the belief in god seems to give people an illusion that they are the only ones that are right and the opposite side argues that god doesn't exist however the funny thing is that neither side has proof of his existence or non existence for that matter.

By the same token as long as there's people who believe there is no God this argument will continue. because for some strange reason the belief there is no god seems to give people an illusion that they are the only ones that are right.

Just saying
