I was curious what everyone thinks of the game so far? Likes, Dislikes? Found any bugs yet?

Drop some skills to 0. 1 unused skillpoint = 7 starting mana. You can get next grade by doing this.
I would recommend to drop masonry, poison and traps. Mana stream is questionable addition too. Barely makes much difference for first part of the skill, second part is useless without orange mastery.

The thing is though, the field in question is a wizard tower field. Three of the four locks require very high amounts of tower shots (the southern one requires 6 freezes), and I'm not sure if I should drop Masonry in favor of starting mana. Poison and traps are likely useless though, so I'll take your advice on those.

(Okay, seriously need an edit function, this is getting annoying)

Yay! Cleared it and unlocked three new hextiles...even though only one of them actually had any levels unlocked by clearing field M5, with the hextile in question being hextile N.

That aside, thank you for the assistance. =)

I'm currently very stuck on H4. I am not allowed to complete any other fields until I get freeze and am thus only allowed to do H4. (H3 is actually missing so far, the game skipped it for some reason)

The problem is that I have leveled 12 times since arriving at H4 (was 16 originally, am now 28) and the monsters still blow past me as they start with like 30 armor and even the first wave is unstoppable. I start with well over a thousand mana as I have almost 100 skill points in starting mana. I have completed every other field I can with multiple levels of difficulty.

It is going to be hard to continue leveling much further without fighting 10-20 extra battles to accumulate shadow cores every time I want to gain a few thousand xp (since most battles for more xp result in a loss of shadow cores).

So... any suggestions? Basically, I can't level much more without playing for weeks just to do so and I am only allowed to play one field which seems unbeatable (and the earlier numbered field H3 is missing from the game so far).

Firstly, you got Bolt? That sucker's gonna be your best friend on H4. Combine with enraging waves and trust me, it works like a charm. Just don't over-enrage. That's all I can really say.

How does enraging waves help when I can't even stop the first wave? Bolt doesn't load in time to be usable versus the first waves.

Hmm...well, that's a predicament. I'd say make a dual gem of at least grade 4. Lower the amount of skill points you're using if need be. I went into H4 with almost every fragment in my talisman having at least 10 rarity, and Poison mastery, while useful, may not be required. Also, make sure to stock up on Fusion, Masonry, and if you have it, the skill associated with Bolt. Put extras into gem skills as desired. If worst comes to worst and you simply can't get any stronger and still can't survive, I'd suggest going back and doing past fields with higher battle traits. You'd be surprised at how much experience you can get from those things.

That's what I've been working on, but I've been grinding/redoing levels ao much I've gained 12 additional levels of experience since I got to H4. I'm having to grind levels over and over now just to get enough shadow cores to even attempt at getting more xp (5 cores per level on average doesn't get me anything, I need like 20 to even try and get xp). Spending a week trying to level to beat one field is starting to get pretty frustrating.

One good way to grind Shadow Cores is to play field F1 over and over. Lol. 3 or 4 Shadow Cores per run + chance of talisman thingymabobber. Yay.

In any event, have you attempted any of the other levels that you haven't beaten yet? I had to beat a few levels in the M hextile before I had enough power to go back and best H4. I'd suggest first heading for the M hextile, even though the skill tome there requires the Freeze skill (read: you don't need to crack the skill tome, just have to beat the level). If you've already tried that...well, I think the last thing I can ask you is, how many skill points do you have and what is your wizard level? Maybe I can get something from that.

The game refuses to let me do M1. The field token is there, but it shakes negatively at me if I try. I assume it requires you to have freeze first.

I am currently level 28 with 146 unspent skill points and 7 levels in masonry, fusion, mana stream, bolt, and poison (but not trap). One thing I was doing to try and get stronger was build up skill points from achievements.

That's weird. Didn't do that. I thought it was E6 that did that. Also, it only requires freeze if you're looking to crack open the skill tome, though that is kind of odd. I was hoping that wouldn't happen.

Okay, so I'm going to mimic this the best I can and hopefully I can come up with something, because I want to see it from the level you're at, not from mine =P

Will post results in a few minutes.

Okay, so I didn't exactly have the best results,, but I did clear it...except I can't get to exactly 146 unspent skill points...lovely.

Hmm...well, try to get rarer talisman fragments. They will help.

Why do you need exactly 146 skill points unspent?

Just some general tips for early game players having trouble with high armor monsters:
You should be using poison traps, they completely ignore armor and in these levels you will often see high armor/low hp monsters, typically the best targets for this.
Also use bolt to boost some traps with dual gems in them. They kill even high armored moderately high hp swarmlings. Which is fantastic because you can enrage them multiple times and gain tons of xp an mana. A good setup is some poison traps next to each other, enough empty space for the monsters to be healthdrained then 2 high leveled resist ignoring traps. For the kill traps use red/green red/blue or whatever you want but red, yellow, green are the best.
Also make sure your main defences are placed behind your traps, so you don't have to bother with swarmlings and the surviving reavers are severely weakened.
For me these things worked very well, some strats even worked in midgame and I managed to beat some levels without any towers too.
