- The highest roller of each round gets a +10 point bonus for the next round
- The person with the lowest roll gets eliminated from the tournament
- The tournament will have approx. ten days. Each day is one round.
- The clock will be based on Eastern Time since most of you are from the States. 12 am - 10:30 pm is the allotted time to roll for the round. at 10:30 pm onward the rolls will be counted and announcements will be made for top roll and who is eliminated on this thread, and the discussion thread.
- Failure to post during the allotted time will result to disqualification
- If the lowest number is rolled by two players, then both will not be eliminated, though two players the next round will be eliminated to keep up with the schedule.
- Use the signup thread as the discussion thread, Try to AVOID posting here if it is not a roll.
ROUND 1 BEGINS It ends at 12:00AM EST, on the 13th SATURDAY. START ROLLING
Just dropping a post... @red303 , it is far more complicated than that you don't have one dice, you have 20...
Lowest number: 20
Highest: 400
But you have to know statistics here. If we consider the allocation of varying results "normal" (which it almost is) as it is called, then we get a diagram depicting exactly which result we get every time the experiment is done (i.e. a roll is made). A diagram of "number of times we got each result". The diagram is resembling a bell a bit (called "bell diagram"), showing that most results are in the range 190-230 approximately (which is the top of the bell ). The highest tip of the "bell" is it's average. The further away the result is, the less chance it has to be scored. Which is why we never get posts with less than 100, or over 300
This here shows the chance you have of landing on each possible result if the allocation is normal:
Imagine that the "0" is the average (in our case 210). the σ's are something different that doesn't matter as of this explanation
So, it is not exactly a 50/50 chance. Firstly because all the possible results are not [0-400] but [20-400] and secondly because the allocation is (most likely) not entirely normal.
Hope this helps...I've had some statistic training. If you'd like, I can analyze it properly.
This was only meant as an explanation...ok, with a little bit of pride in it Sorry!
Hello, the next round starts now. It will end on the 7th of June 12 AM Eastern. Please be informed that after this round, users will only be allowed one day for each round. Thank you!
Final rounds rules (which can also be found in the discussion thread's OP)
- The final two users will have a best of three (2/3) approach to determining the winner of the tournament.
- There is no allotted time for the best of three rounds, as soon as both have rolled, go on to the next set of rolls. (wait for the other user to roll before rolling again.)
