This is a completely serious club, people who make a decent enough plan will be able to comment and review other plans. Here is some zombie info.

run/walk: they walk

scream/groan: they groan

day/night: All da time babey!

what they attack: EVERYTHING THEY HEAR, OR THAT MOVES!

survivors: very very little, like near 100-1000 people on EARTH

guns: This is real time, being your neighboorhood and everything, you have all the resources you have in your house.

cure: there is none.

where to go: so long as you have a plan to get their, go for it.

how much you can carry: AGAIN, THIS IS REAL TIME

family members: theres a high chance they are zombehs too.
able to join: if you didn't read, just make a good plan.

durability: they can take ALOT of damage, worse than playing last stand 2 with just a pistol for the entire game when the zombies have twice as much life.

doors: they can't work a doorhandle for the mostpart of their brain is already rotted
I am still making my plan right now, but I think some of you can do it. Let the zombie surviving begin!

As for making noise with a melee weapon if you don't scream, "For Narnia!" or something in the process, it's pretty stealthy. But if you want really quiet, then wrap an aluminum bat in a towel with some wire. That quiets things down and won't take any of the force away. Plus if you drop it it muffles the sound.

Yeah... I think that if you have a crowbar, include it in your scenario answer... And we might need another scenario to help some people... Maybe thoad????

Ok, it is two months after the outbreak, and you haven't seen another human. Just what they have become. You have managed to find a few guns, a .22 for your closet, a .33 revolver from next door, and a .12 gauge shot gun from a shack across town. Yo uwere sitting in a small hosue you had found while searching for supplies. It had 5 rooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, living room, and 2 bedrooms. They kitchen is complete with table, and frezzer of rotting meat. The living has a few couches, and an end table with a big glass display gas filled with shiny awards. You found a crowbar out back, and are laying on the couch filling i na journal when you ear a tap on the outside wall. You hear a moan, then another, and by the sound of it, about 6 more. 7 in total. You have loads of ammo for all the guns heaped in your bags.

CHALLENGE! Make a sutable barricade quickly, and live. Bonus point if you don't fire shot though.

Thoad, and quack I think you guys will find this one stupidly easy.

And HAHA thoad, just cause i typ lke dis whithout trying dosnt mean anything! AT LEAST I TRY!

Which is why I favor CUTTING tools, such as an axe, or a machete. They can make a "Thunk" at the most. Really, slicing tools are the best. Don't havea huge battleaxe used in the roman Ages? Strap the tip of a fire ax to the end of a broomstick.
It works.

Yes, while cutting tools work, they require some matinents which alot of people couldnt do without hurting them selfs.

that's a great point, I'm going to go lose my virginity now. jk. Anyways, I would probably only hurt myself if I didn't have a rag. you do hace to sharpen it, but I figure that using a small kitchen knife sharpener (I have one) would be easy enough to take care of a dull blade.

Yes, but alot of people can not even use one of those. I could get my hands on a steel (one of those things used by a butcher, like the long metal rod with groves?) I could quickly sharpen thigns like that, so I would be fine. And i was shown how to use it.

Scenario:

=======================================================

Reports of the outbrake have been sweaping your little town. While there has been no sign of the virus in your community. Plans are being made to keep it that way. Any men, women and child that knows how to operate a gun, in on duty in the night shift. In the day your town works to keep in clean and to make the best defense possible.

You watch the few news reports that are being brodcasted, and each day the outbrake comes closer and closer to your little town. Luckey for you, many houses are built up high, and there vantage points to your approval.

The landscape is not great, but in the center of town there is a large mall. The mall has enough supplies to last 5 years. And many people sought to fortify the building. If the outbrake does reach bigger proportaions, that building is your only chance at survival.

It has eevrything you would need to survive, and all the weapons, in the hunting section. But the bad news is, the happens sooner then expected, and soon you have to fight your way to the mall. All you have in your hand is a 9mm pistol and nothing else.

============================================================

Meh I tried, and this seems more like fiction then a scenario........ :P

Just wanted to throw in my two cents. ^_^

A butchers steel does not sharpen a blade, per se. It merely realigns the particles and whatnot on the edge of the blade. So if a blade is already very dull, a steel would do little to help it.

Kthnxbye.

that's actually really good advice, thank you.
So do we have to use one of those evil thinks where you use it like a sewing machine and it goes round and round till it's sharp?

A...whetstone! One of those archaic giant spinning stone wheels? Haha, if you find one laying around, go for it. XD

Depending on what the blade in question is made out of, there are a few things which could be done.

If it is simply an iron blade, finding a sizeable a hard enough rock would work. There are several rocks out there which are harder than simple iron. A sizeable chunk of concrete would work. But keep on mind it won't be a perfect or even great edge. Just enough to get the job done. Following up the process with a steel would help a tad.

Now if it is steel (especially stainless), that is more of an issue. It is much harder, this trying to find objects harder than it laying around is a problem. Most kitchens should have even a basic sharpening tool, such as a sharpening block. That's the same idea as the stones for iron, but made of material that can wear down steel. Most have diamond dust adhered to the surface, which is real horrowshow. Steel is nice because it holds a edge much longer than iron.

When sharpening any blade with any method, it is imporant to maintain a proper angle to maximize sharpness. Basically, each side should be sharpen at roughly an angle of twenty degrees. Anything closer to forty-five degrees overall is best.

Hrm, good point as to the steel. I wasn't aware of that.

Adn......Gangsta, keep in mind they are out day and night. So being on watch ONLY at night would be your end. yo uwould have to divde into three teams. One builds, one sleeps, and on defends. Alos how many zombies are you fighting through? What is there along the way? How many people are with you? How is there 5 years of supplies? Why am I asking all these queatiosn? STAY TUNNED!
