Well I'm no cold hearted >_> People always get me wrong.
Lives ok are not nothing but once the tradeg is done...when the war is over and once 50 years pass...we only remember it as a tradgedy when its not anymore.
If were talking about the worst war, I think we rather should talk about which made the biggest difference. If many lives were lost, then how does that affect everything else?
Think about economic destruction, or as I mentioned the loss of knowledge.
True, these are also terrible consequences of wars. However, if I were influent and the choice was given me to either have utter destruction of all economic structures in my country and deprivement of all economic wealth, or to loose 100M population, I would choose the first option. I firmly believe that life is the most beautiful thing we possess, and the most precious too!
That may be true for some one who didn't lose any loved ones in a war, but if you ask some one that lost a father or a brother in the Vietnam War, they will tell you different.

I think destruction of all economic structures would lead to a lot more then a 100 M death.
I am going to have to agree with Drace here. I believe the greatest form of terrorism is destroying another country's economy. A country will gain a population back, but gaining economic structure would almost be impossible after it were destroyed.
I am aware that the loss of many lives is horrible, but we aren't speaking of just one thing. As he has said many times we need to look at the big picture. The war that made the biggest difference. It needs to be a combination of things.
WW2 was an incredibly destructive war and very costly in both lives and infrastructure but WW2 was the major factor pulling the US out of the depression.
I think the worst war is First World War. In FWW they uses gases and they use air force first time. (I used to say 'they', becouse my country wasn't in FWW. That country is Finland)
The Cold War was NOT a real war! It was the nuclear stand-off between the USA and the Soviet Union. There were dozens of "roxy wars" during the Cold War (Vietnam, Korea, Mozambique, Angola, Somalia, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Panama, and many more). But they often had motives behind them other than "Communism vs. Capitalism"
Haha you should study how the WW1 started. Its funny how such a thing happened.
Basically, it started all because of one guy.
Someone from Sebia assasins the archduke of Austria-Hungary. Austria Hungary and Germany declare war on Serbia. Russia (Serbias ally) joins in. Germany invades France (not sure how he gets in it)through Belgium. England defends France.
And WW2 started because Hitler wanted to make up WW1's losses.
duce ferdinan or something, yeah then gemany austria is pissed(strike 1) after www1 the treaty of versies the frenche and english beat the crap out of germany and blockaded them (strike 2) then the us made england throw away the alliance with japan and pissed em off (srike 3)
Worst war? There is no one 'worst war'. All wars are terrible, in my opinion. How can you judge a war being the worst? The number of people dying? The economic or social systems lost? ANY war is a terribly tragedy... but I'll tell you what the worst war in history.
The War on Drugs! The War on Racism! The War on Anything Wrong In Society!
