"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." -- Ben Franklin
This is obviously a reference to the Holy Flying Spaghetti Monster who has a beer volcano on his heaven. But which of beer, women, or pasta is the greatest gift is disputed.
Or maybe in a more Bokononist idea, he gave us the ability to believe lies.
For those of you who don't read enough Bokononism is according to wikipedia: "Bokononism is the fictional religion practiced by many of the characters in Kurt Vonnegut's novel Cat's Cradle. It is based on living by the untruths that make one happy, called Foma. Many of the sacred texts of Bokononism were written in the form of calypsos. The foundation of Bokononism is that all religion, including Bokononism and all its texts, is formed entirely of lies; however, if you believe and adhere to these lies, you will live a happy life." What you don't know won't hurt you, it will make you happy; that is the ultimate of all ironies.
gods gift; imagination thought dreams fealings emotion dominance want endorphins it could be anything realy we have alot that animals dont(if animals do have some of these things dont say anything they're just examples)
In the bible, Genesis, it says that when God created Mankind, he gave us something special which animals didn't have.
Where in Genesis do you mean?
It can't be a soul, as God created the animals as living souls, as stated throughout the Genesis account:
20Â And God went on to say: "Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens." 21Â And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the waters swarmed forth according to their kinds, and every winged flying creature according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good. 22Â With that God blessed them, saying: "Be fruitful and become many and fill the waters in the sea basins, and let the flying creatures become many in the earth." 23Â And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a fifth day.
24Â And God went on to say: "Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind." And it came to be so. 25Â And God proceeded to make the wild beast of the earth according to its kind and the domestic animal according to its kind and every moving animal of the ground according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good.
But don't take my word for it. Pick up a Bible, any translation will do, and look it up for yourself.
I think it is the ability of us humans to become rational or our sense of reasoning. That's the reason why we are the supreme beings of this planet, anyway.
