Hey everyone.
I don't like school at all. How about you? What is your opinion about school?

Okay that first statement is a load of BS, excuse my French. Math is actually the most useful class you can have. You use math everyday, and with most jobs. Your math teacher shouldn't even be allowed to teach :P

Homework is going to happen. Suck it up and do it, but sorry to tell you this, but highschool is worse in homework. More projects, quizzes, it's hell.

Depending on your job, math after algebra 1 isn't really useful. I don't use the pythagorean theorem everyday, but I see what you're saying.

@Drace It's not you. Kids today are morons, but it's mostly their fault and their parents'. The kids feel entitled and are spoiled, by their parents, so they don't value education, so they refuse to learn. (This is very general, there are good kids and parents, but not enough.)

I use it sometimes. I'm a linebacker in football, and believe it or not, that pythagorean theorem does come into use. If the ball is thrown, while you are in coverage, you don't want to fade at a backwards diagnal to intercept the ball, because the hypotenuse (path of the ball) is longer than if you run to the ball at a diagnal. I could draw it up, if you don't understand.

Parents are not responsible for everything their child does. They cannot stop their kids from what they are doing when they are at school and with their friends. This is where most traits are learned.

Parents do have a big influence on children actually. Most habits are made aa a young age, but they're at school half the time, so it's both school, and parents.

@Estel, I understand the theorem, and thank you for the drawing offer. It's actually refreshing to see a football player who even understands it, let alone use it. Kudos.

@Drace. It is true that the parents aren't completely to blame. It's a larger problem that deals with society, and no one thing is to blame. The parents can teach them value for education and not spoil their kids. They can teach them values in general.

Anyone who thinks they can waltz into college without having learned any basic skills is in for a shock. You have to jump through the hoops they put in front of you, or you don't get to play.

Well, who does like school? Not I. But I realize that without it, everyone would be stupid as a slug.

Wow, I am sort of shocked that nearly everyone but a few (including myself) hate school. I will give my points as to why high school is good that contradicts the reasons people gave that are bad.

When am I going to use it? You use your education every single day. Since math became popular with this subject, I will go with that. I am guessing you think most math is pointless because you have never needed to use the pythagorean theorem and such. One of the reasons you are taught this math is to see if you are interested in it. Maybe you would like a job that involves math methods. Another reason is problem-solving. Most math is actually related to other math problems so knowing more math means more problem-solving skills. Right now, as kids, you think you will never use it because you have actually never used it. However, as adults, you will see there is much more to math then you thought.

It's boring I guess a good education that will get you very good money when you older just sucks, doesn't it. Man, who would want to be successful when they are older? Can school be boring at times? Yes, but you have to make the most of it. You are basically saying you don't want to work for it but you want to get good money. Sorry guys, that just does not happen.

Education system sucks Okay then, what are you going to do about it? Are you just going to complain and not try in school? That is not going to get you anywhere. Complaining will not change anything. Try going to a board meeting to speak your mind. Not trying in school is a failure of a rebellion. It does not make you tough to try to fail. It just makes you look like a dumbass, literally. The point is that you just have to try to learn as much as possible.

Too much homework HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system. Do you even have any idea why they give you homework besides the fact to learn the material? It is all about teaching you to manage time. When you are an adult, you can't just skip some duties at work and be all fine. You have to manage your time and get them done. Too much? I highly doubt it. First of all, most of you have probably 6-7 hours after school to do stuff. Homework is usually max at 2-3 hours senior year at high school. I don't want to even hear these 7th and 8th graders complaining about their homework since they probably get a half hour of homework.

All in all, you guys just think schools teach you pointless stuff. Try to look outside the box. If you give up on school, you give up on life basically. Money is not just going to fly your way when you are older. If you think school is bad, you are in for a rude awakening when you are an adult.

Well, the school exists not only to expand your knowledge, but to stimulate your mind and strengthen critical thinking skills that are needed to think logically and abstract-like.

We also have teachers to establish a relation with authority (since teachers represent that, once you think about that) and to strengthen our obedience so we could perform effectively/efficiently in society without things going into chaos.

It may also be an introduction to industrial or the adult world, where we have to work for rewards.

Also it may be to force us into a society to help us become more conformed and functional.

The problem with school is that it is just plain too rediculous. I am going to be an auto mechanic after college, and I bet $1000 that i'll never need to know the 50 million different math equasions that they teach you. I still think that it is necessary, though.
