School becomes what you make of it. If you are angry and feel like it's a complete waste of time, you will have a horrible time. But if you try to enjoy it, and have a positive outlook, you will end up enjoying it and doing well. In every one of my classes I tried to enjoy it, even if it was a topic I completely hated. I just thought about doing well, and that maybe someday I could use the skills for something, whether it would be writing a book, or creating something cool. I tried to apply everything to something fun I could personally do. Physics, I thought about building a catapult. (and I did). Math, well math you can use for anything, especially engineering. English, I thought about how I would have to document things and inventions.
Does anyone know why we need to learn all this stuff we never use again.
Duh! We obviously learn history for trivia game shows!
More seriously...
So you've never used math outside of school? And you don't think you'll ever have to right an essay in a future job? I think school isn't pointless, it helps prepare us for jobs by teaching us writing and math, and believe-it-or-not, responsibility, leadership skills, and social lessons. Without school, we'd be thrown into the world clueless.
The only thing I don't get about school is history...I've only used that on trivia and tests.
So, there, school is teaching us things (and helping us make friends!)
I like school. Now you may think I'm crazy but hear me out. School lets you become whatever you want in life. You can do anything!
The reason most people dont like school is because you can't do whatever you like. You have to sit down, shut up, and pay attention. Also, everyday is the same! That's what bothers me: the monotany of school. If there wasn't any homework or tests, and you could just learn stuff and thats it, I would probably like school more
I cant dedicate myself in school when it means I'm just going to end up making some one else more money.
School is pretty much pointless. Those with straights As I still see as stupid.
The education system sucks. Back in my homeland, we'd learn 3 languages by the 4-5th grade!
Here, lol a few know a foreign language by end of high school.
It teaches us writing and math -.- It makes us learn equations which I can get off a book 50 faster and makes us write pointless writing and get graded for it.

I think that the ABILITY to learn is what is really important. I think that saying "I'm never going to use this, so I'm not going to try" is just an excuse for being lazy. Anyone who truly wants to learn is going to plow through and try their best in school (even if they believe what they are learning is somehow useless).
Now, I am not saying that I think the system is perfect. I am one of those people who believe what I am being taught is trivial (often regurgitated) information. However, it teaches me how to learn better and faster. School isn't perfect, but it isn't pointless.
The only math I need is a girls seven digits if ya know what I mean. Do you know what I mean?
Way to go. Seriously, if I had one of those animated emoticons of a smilely clapping his hands I'd post it. Congratulations on offering an intelligent contribution to the thread!

I want to learn, but school actually keeps me back. Pointless waste of my 6-7 hours of my time!
Please ask me what I learned in school every day, I will answer nothing. I'm no liar :-$
