^So you'd force people to do something they didn't want to and have to directly pay extra for? That doesn't seem very American to me. Then again, neither does auto insurance...

Yes if it didn't cost the people trying to recycle money

It is going to cost money, no matter what. Everything does.

But maybe Calm can contribute to this, but I know that where I have family in Europe that it is the law to recycle and you will receive a fine if you do not. It seems to work out well there.

I agree with aherlee, some places it is hard to recycle things all of the time and yes, it could start war.

It could start a war? Aye Yai Yai! I recycle, except not pizza boxes... They are UNRECYCLEABLE! have you seen all that grease on the box? it would totally destroy the cardboard gnashing machine. DESTROY it I tell you! and the unwieldy shape! I mean, it's just impossible. -_-

I want a bounty on litterbugs.

Or maybe the right to shoot them on sight.

It doesn't need to be a law - getting paid to recycle is enough for me.

But many states do not pay people for recycling, it is only certain states that implement that program. What do you think would be a good step in order to get the other states, the ones that are not paid, to recycle? Personally, I think a law on it could only help.

Hey, My dad and I got $20 for recyclables this weekend.

And recycling centers pay dearly for copper these days.

What I am saying is that not all states offer a program like that. You do not get money to recycle everywhere. So what I am asking, is what should be done for those states that do not give cash compensation for recyclables?

those states are stupid for telling their people to recycle and not giving them an incentive to do so.
