It's a Dystopian novel about a man who calls himself Snowman, believed to be the last living Human, acting as a prophet for the genetically altered Humans called the "Children of Crake". It is mixed with flashbacks of what life was like before the disaster, and how the Children of Crake came to be.

its an old one, but its called The Source of Magic by Piers Anthony. It makes fun of Fantasy : ) they have bread trees, soda trees, sugar sand, shoe vines, pillow bushes, and dragons when you kill them spew out pixie stick powder. It's one of those "ROFL" books.
