Okay, this is pretty much a topic for Christians. Anyway, this has been a Gray Matter for forever with Christians, and I want to know what you guys think about this.
The big example people always come up with is this: If someone gave you a gun and told you to shoot either your friend or yourself, or else he'd kill you both, and you shot yourself, would you go to Hell? I mean, you saved your friend, but you committed suicide, which is unforgivable, right? What do you think?
Except that you would likely plunge your country into chaos and would thus lead to more killing as other people try to get the thrown... But yeah... Directly, its the same...
Well... I'm not so sure. I know that intentionally ending ones own life is a sin, but God sent Jesus to die for us, so I guess He would look upon it as a self-sacrifice for someone else.
I am pretty sure that Gods son (Jesus) killed himself for all of us...and not all Christians believe that suicide is an unforgivable sin. The suicide being a unforgivable sin is a from the viewpoint of a Jew and from a Catholic I believe, me being southern Baptist believe that all sins are equal, except not accepting Jesus as your savior, its the world that has made what they are and how we interpret them

No. I'm a Catholic, and we believe suicide is a mortal sin under the appropriate circumstances and intent, this case certainly not being one of them. No sin is unforgiveable on this earth.
According to the sixth commandment, "thou shall not kill" that is why if you kill yourself, you are breaking the commandment, and is thus a sin.
Assuming that the reason why the guy who gave you a gun is to make you pick who is going to die, you or your friend, then a way to save your friend and not commit sin is by making that guy kill you. Though I don't think that might be applicable.
Anyways, some people believe that the sixth commandment refers to "thou shall not murder" and does not really apply for killing one self. In that case, then it might be okay. Also, a number of followers of God committed suicide, though they don't really seem to be frowned upon. So I guess it might be okay. I'm not sure.
Well, God forgives sins if you repent. And if someone gave me a gun and told me to shoot myself or my friend, I would simply shoot the guy who gave me the gun
You'd think there would be a gray area, but if Christians are to be believed (ahahaha!) then it's all very black and white; don't do this or SUFFER ETERNAL ****ATION.
