I'm sure most people on this forum are atheists (i being one of them). I just wanted to say something about all religions which pretty much makes sure their poppycock! The point is, the race of the god. Jesus was white because he was thought up by a white person in tough times. Buddha was Indian because he was made by a prince who saw hardships in his country. The gods of Mayans were pretty much the only godly figures, instead of having races. I just think this is a big point on what pretty much proves that religion is a bunch of poppycock!
Plus evolution and that makes some of the ld bible stroies sound like they were made up...It coulda been all just one big lie. Oh and its kinda strange that all the people that Jesus taught to are mostly jewish...Yet we European/american are mostly christian communities.
The Jews didn't listen. Jesus wasn't what they were looking for in a messiah. They were looking for a military leader who would release the grip of the hated Romans from the Promised Land. They didn't expect a carpenter's son from Bethlehem...
But others did, and that's why we are where we are today.
first of all you spelled religion wrong second me being a catholic i completly say that this thread doesn't make sense if it did ten explain why there are 130,000+ priests out there
I prefer science to God as I mostly believe it was just men who needed to tell their people of why they were all there...
And pop...there comes God...Really if God must be real...Then so must hinduism and all the other religions as we have no living proof God is completely real...and then to say all the other religions are false
One thing, I did mean to put the title in caps, and the OUN instead of ION is a common mistake on my part, sorry that firefox didn't see that. Now then, I am NOT repeat NOT insulting religion, I just see this as a point against it. I actually take this accusation offensively. Sorry if I DID insult anyone, but I honestly didn't mean to. I know of Siddhartha Gautama and Jesus really existing, I really do, but that's not my point here.
sorry for the double post but Agent, gawd, no reason to get all "Protect the religion, *preach* *preach* *preach*" I know pretty much all the facts you guys are pointing out too. I used to be a christian, but as I grew up I questioned all the crap of religion, not just my own. I believe in a god yes, but I am one of the people that think he doesn't meddle with our affairs.
If God really exists, he's pretty sick in the head, letting people get murdered, day in - day out and letting the World go through wars and whatnot, if he really "LOVED" all his Children, wouldn't he help?
Assuming God is real, which you are or else you wouldn't have said it that way, then the Bible is true. In the Bible, the seventh day is his day of rest. No where is the Bible does it say that the seventh day ended. So, God is resting, and cannot put great effort into keeping us where we belong.
of course. I was just saying, don't typingly attack me, jeez.
Well, it was you who attacked first. You launched an attack on many peoples beliefs, including mine. So, don't expect not to have aggressive responses. Also, try to spell better, it's been all over the place including the title and your posts.
i think the person that made this thread really needs to open up a theology book and learn facts from opinion. in case nobody knows what theology is, its the self-critical intellectual way of analyzing a faith or religion. so before you insult or deny someone or something know the facts so you dont look like a fool again

All you've really done here is turn "science" (whatever you mean by that) into a religion. Science is a method, a means to determine a certain type of truth. The method never claimed to be infallible, in fact it generates more false claims than true ones. The point of science is to test hypothesis to figure out if they are false or not, and thus clarify, narrow down, and get to the truth. But it can only do it with things which can be measured, and things which cannot be measured, it never claimed to really work on that anyways. Besides which, the way you phrase it, science is just another religion designed to answer the question of meaning and purpose in life, which is definitely not what the scientific method was designed to do. So I'm not really sure what you mean by science.

science is a religion. religion is formed in order to answer questions that can't be answered by just what you see. science tries to explain a lot of those questions, and the questions that can't be answered and proven, are answered through scientific theory.
