I'm sure most people on this forum are atheists (i being one of them). I just wanted to say something about all religions which pretty much makes sure their poppycock! The point is, the race of the god. Jesus was white because he was thought up by a white person in tough times. Buddha was Indian because he was made by a prince who saw hardships in his country. The gods of Mayans were pretty much the only godly figures, instead of having races. I just think this is a big point on what pretty much proves that religion is a bunch of poppycock!

Believing in science is putting your trust in mortal humans! You denying that there isn't a God is saying we were put on this earth to live and rot with no purpose, which in my opinion and beliefs, is unacceptable! There is much proof of a living God, if you take the time to find it!

science is a religion. religion is formed in order to answer questions that can't be answered by just what you see. science tries to explain a lot of those questions, and the questions that can't be answered and proven, are answered through scientific theory.

Science is based on our observations and extends no more then as to what reality holds. Your comparison only takes in account of the reason s of why we have them. I find them false, but thats not the point.

God is saying we were put on this earth to live and rot with no purpose, which in my opinion and beliefs, is unacceptable!

Sure is, and its no reasoning to say that because your human brain thinks thats weird then its right >_>

I don't really understand why people hate beliefs. It shouldn't matter what you believe in this day and age, leave others alone. If you believe in God, then so be it. Try to express your love for Him in your own way but don't try to shove it down people's throats. If you believe in science, that's fine too but leave Christians alone. I know this will never actually happen, just human nature, but I'm getting sick and tired of people being all like
"zomg I h8 Jebuz b/c pplz die all the time and it'z like ZOMG he'z GHEY!"
"0 ya? well ur goin to hell b/c ur a herat1c!"
And I REALLY hate it when people start making lectures about religion and how it's fake. You're not going to change people's beliefs. Yes, I personally believe in God but I also believe in science, so I'm basically wrong in both areas, but that doesn't bother me because it's MY belief, not theirs.

believing in god is also putting your trust in mortal humans. everything that religion teaches was made up by a human. No part of the bible was written by god.

Nope.
Logic is based on reality. My statement is correct, because it pointed to a flaw of yours. That flaw would be that your statement is not logical...

So yes, my thoughts came out of by brain to, but they are logical thoughts.

You denying that there isn't a God is saying we were put on this earth to live and rot with no purpose, which in my opinion and beliefs, is unacceptable!

This is nothing more then a thought with no support. Its like saying blue is my favorite color, thus red is ugly! Ok to you, but a universal truth exists when talking of things such as God. It cant be just for you.

Your argument, if you want to call it that, can be easily defeated by the opposite of that statement.

You denying that there isn't a God is saying we were put on this earth to live and rot with no purpose, which in my opinion and beliefs, is acceptable!

well lige it may not have been written directly by god,but the main difference between scientology is the beliefs of the big bang and creationism.I have still found it rather hard to believe that so many people think that something was created out of nothing. To me a higher power seems like a more reasonable explanation.Although this thread in itself was made without any prior knowledge to go by.Jesus, muhummad(I am using IE today so if I spelled his name wrong then sorry)and budha all existed on Earth at one time. Also you can't really say somthing exists that you can't prove,at least not by a logic stand point, but on the other hand unless you can for a fact find 100% proof that it doesn't exist then you can't technically say that it doesn't exist by that same stand point. That is of course only my opinion on the matter, and may not be seen as true to everyone, but I am a christian for a reason and I stand by it.

@Panda,

We live in a society. Our fellow men matter to us. We rather have it a bunch of intellectuals thinking then praying. Religion does nothing for society!

Our goal becomes to abolish it. Consider it a disease...

And, you believe in a God for a reason don't you? Or do you want to mindlessly believe in something? Well ehh we layed out the facts, if YOU want, then just don't listen. Were doing our job and you shouldn't get angry over us trying to put some facts down. If you want to be blind, its your choice. If you don't then argue, if you cant, call yourself an atheist.

scientology is much different from believing in science. scientology is a religion that follows the beliefs of science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard.

You're right about that. It was written by a council of powerful men who wanted to know what combination of essays would influence people the most.

I believe that the reason that people portray Jesus as white is because most people in America and England can relate to a white Jesus. I bet that to a black person, Jesus could be black.

I read this one book, "Bruchko". It was about a missionary who went into hostile indian territory to spread the Word of God. When Bruchko finally got through to the motilones, they undersdtood what Christianity was all about, combining the teachings with Indian lore.

one of the changes they made was when they referred to Jesus coming from heaven to become a man, they used a story about a man who saw these ants. He wanted to help the ants so much, but when he tried, the ants were frightened and scurried away. He was incredibly upset, but the spirits saw him and his intentions and shrank him down to the size of an ant.

When he saw this, he helped the ants. This time, the ants weren't afraid and allowed him to help them, and the man was happy.

That was one of the stories that they used to help the Indians understand what the Bible says. They unerstood because they understood the story, and when Bruchko told them that the man was Jesus, we were the ants and that God was that spirit, they understood what he was saying, and wanted Jesus in their hearts.

Those are my two cents...=\\

$cientology is a dangerous cult that follows the beliefs of science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard.

Fix'd.
Not even going to go into the OT III stuff. There are so many other things wrong with them. For example, the fact that there is an EXTREMELY high suicide rate among people who escape from this cult. Also, they steal your money and make you feel bad if you don't keep spending more. Don't, whatever you do, let yourself become ensnared by their web of lies.
