why do they have laws anyway? drugs, beer anything its your life..americas not free anymore..oh and if your gonna say its for yuor health america doesnt care..your about to die in a car crash but you survive thanks to the hospital right? well you say "I wish i've died" because they bone you with "That will be 2,000 dolloars for saving your life.
Well, I don't agree with lowering the drinking age, because car crashes is the #1 cause of death for people 16-25. If the drinking age was lowered, that would mean more DUI's and more DUI crashes.
I don't approve of that at all, but I think that if it did happen, things wouldn't change much anyways. Odds are, if you ever get into getting drunk, you do it before or at the age of 16.
Most parents give their kids alcohol as it is! Lowering the legal drinking age would cause even more deaths than there is. Heck, in Texas, kids can legally drink at age 14 in the presence of their parents...
Well, the problem here in Los Angeles is that too many kids would get buzzed/drunk and go out for a ride, then they speed, run a light, etc. and BANG!!! they become a statistic.

Its for the health of other people. trust me, $2000 dollars is nothing when it comes to your life. My friend's mother died because of a drunk driver. She was not the drunk one. The reason why the agw is 21 is not only so people can learn to be more responsible drinkers, but also so everyone else can live more comfortably without being too worried about drunk 18 year olds driving around.
As I said before, when you drink underaged, you normally are more cautous about not drivign or driving more carefully so you dont get busted and get kicked from school a school sport or something. I know that some people over 21 drive drunk, in fact more do, but that is because the people under 21 are too busy trying not to get caught.
Armor_warrior, that was attempted before. It didn't work.
I'd be fine with lowering the drinking age. Some countries don't even have drinking ages. You might think that it would cause mass drunken-ness, but it actually helps in a way. People are used to alcohol, so there aren't as many parties celebrating people's newfound love for it.

That's very true. It's not as much of a problem because it's not a "rite of passage" into adulthood to be able to drink.
Lowering the age to 18 might rise the amount of teens (with underdeveloped frontal lobes, the part of the brain that makes decisions) and could very well hinder their mental growth. I'm against it...anyone dumb enough to drink underage, go ahead and do it, but I don't drink like some of my friends do.

Wow, who tried to get that law passed? We have enough accidents involving the use of drinking and driving. Must people are pretty idiotic at 18. Imagine it at 14...
