So does anyone know who tried to pass that? Maybe get it a bit higher. Maybe to 25? That is a solid age where people are starting to learn about their limits. So, anything new with you people.

The health section in the LA Times cited some college presidents who wanted to minimize initiation hazings and general college debauchery...as for me, I have to go to the bathroom xD
But if 18-year-olds are able to risk their lives enlisting in the army, vote, and pay taxes, shouldn't they be entitled to the right to drink?
Yes, but they should not drive. So really they jsut need to learn to drink without driving which really its ahrd to get caught drunk as a teen unless you drive or your at a party that gets busted. If an 18 year old wants to drink so bad then they should learn to drink at home instead of at a bar.
Well for me it won't be any change because I live in Finland and here we have it 18. But you can buy only beer, when you "achieve" age 21 you can buy all alcohol stuff!
Sry for my English, I don't know the English words for everything ;P
Well where I live the leagel drinking age is 18. I dont think it is a good idea to lower the drinking age. It will just cuase to more probs and maybe accelerate teen drinking ( gives a bad example to underaged teens and may even promote then to drink) Besides, drinking alc isn't that exciting. Not everything you see on TV or hear is true. I'm not saying it's not fun, but you need to be responsible enough.
If you lower the drinking age, you accelerate the problems faced by late teens-early 20's. Kids these days are in too much of a hurry to grow up. Drinking lowers your ability to make decisions which causes unneeded mistakes for younger teens
I really just don't get why anyone wanna get drunk anyway. But that might just be me... Where I live, it's legal to buy alcohol when you're 16, but not to drink it before you turn 18... I think. I never understood that law. But many of my - "friends" got drunk when they were like 15... In my opinion, legal ages really don't do much for this subject. It's like with sex, better teach the kids how it works before they go out and do something stupid with it.
why do people look forward to getting drunk anyways?
THANKS bballdunker20! SOMEONE WITH SENSE! I think that alcohol is not something that should be dependent on an age, it should depend on how you can handle. I know this is not really possible with all the different kinds of people out in the world that drink and such, but I absolutely hate it when young people say that they can't wait to get drunk or something, isn't there better things to dream about?
