First of all, no posting religious comments about how stuff is wrong in this thread. Of course everyone is allowed to state their opinion, but Christians and other religious people who just post about premarital sex, same sex relationships and other deviations from the standardized common norm is wrong because their biblething says so, tends to ruin the healthy discussion. So please, if you have nothing else to say, don't bother saying it.
I talked with Strop about getting this topic up and running, so... I don't think I'm not allowed to, though some of you youngsters may find it offensive. Please, if weird things about sex disturbs you, stop reading now. Kthnxbai.

Now, the actual topic of this thread is pretty wide.
Heavy reading about what paraphilias are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraphilia
But to sum up (info taken from Wikipedia's article):
* Exhibitionism: the recurrent urge or behavior to expose one's genitals to an unsuspecting person. (Can also be the recurrent urge or behavior to perform sexual acts in a public place, or in view of unsuspecting persons.)
* Fetishism: the use of inanimate objects to gain sexual excitement. Partialism refers to fetishes specifically involving nonsexual parts of the body (for example, feet).
* Frotteurism: the recurrent urges of behavior of touching or rubbing against a nonconsenting person.
* Pedophilia: a psychological disorder in which an adult experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children, or has engaged in child sexual abuse.
* Sexual Masochism: the recurrent urge or behavior of wanting to be humiliated, beaten, bound, or otherwise made to suffer for sexual pleasure.
* Sexual Sadism: the recurrent urge or behavior involving acts in which the pain or humiliation of a person is sexually exciting.
* Transvestic fetishism: arousal from "clothing associated with members of the opposite sex."
* Voyeurism: the recurrent urge or behavior to observe an unsuspecting person who is naked, disrobing or engaging in sexual activities, or may not be sexual in nature at all.

For anyone that do not "suffer" from a paraphilia, most of that can probably sound - grotesque... But many people in this world have one or more paraphilias.

What kind of an insult is a knob, you ****ing retard?
One that doesn't sound like flaming and is therefore okay according to the rules?
Nah, I was confused because I somehow thought you were a guy and you were talking about man-boobs... which was strange to me. Now its normal.
Oh dear. Lol. Well glad that one got cleared up.

As to the stuff Cenere mentioned, look up 'sexual selection' on Wikipedia. It's actually quite interesting.

I don't see this post. Did it get deleted? Because in it I believe somebody called me a ****ing retard.

However I never insulted anybody. I just said that continuing certain types of behavior would make them look like a knob. If I had called them a knob, then that would constitute flaming, yes.

Can we get back on topic now?

Do you think 45Grave cares if you delete his posts?
Do you think it would hurt you to stay on topic? Btw, Strop didn't delete those posts, I think Carlie did... But this is irrelevant.

Oh, and it's only flaming if it is actually calling someone something. Otherwise it's just an indirect insult kind of thing...

Annnnnywayyyyyyy...

I bought a little book about sexual terms today. It's pretty old (published in 1989), but still interesting material, and most of the definitions of terms are still the same. I'm still relatively off topic, but I'm finding it funny that ambisexual and amphisexual both are/were terms used instead of bisexual.
And an old Danish word for penis is 'anbuth'. Originally meant 'tool'. Heh.

Also, I just managed to drool on my book. But that was because of a candy...

Ampalang (Polynesian); object placed on the glans to heighten the the woman's sexual desire during intercourse. Can be made leather, silver, gold, possibly decorated with feathers, shaped like a ring or staff, possibly positioned in a little channel drilled through the glans.
Oh foreign traditions.

Every time we start going off topic now, I'll take advantage of the 'and so on...' in the thread title, and just start posting random information from the sex related world. Because I can. :3

Wow, There were things that I probably didn't really need to know, but thanks for the insight Zophia! A lot of work went in this thread, that's easy to see. Keep up the good work Zophia!

Well, that's the general argument, anyway. Mainly that "minors cannot properly consent".

Which makes you think about where consent can and cannot be applied.

The agreed-upon legal point is that, if our parents, schools, and community leaders have done a decent job, we gain the wherewithall to give concent upon reaching adulthood. Of course even adults have lapses of judgment. Perhaps only age and experience can truly teach us what we need to know.

Yes and no. There are in fact many different levels at which one can consent to various things with various exceptions and discretionary elements...and truth be told, not all that many of them are the same as the legal age of adulthood in whatever jurisdiction those laws apply!

For example in Australia the minimum age for a girl to request the contraceptive pill without having to gain parental consent is 14. Special cases exist where the doctor has grounds to believe that the person is a "mature minor" and therefore make an allowance if that person is under the age of 14. However the "age of consent" for sexual intercourse is 16- but the devil is in the details. If both parties are under the age of 16 then the guideline for acceptability is (as I've said earlier) an age difference of two years or less. If one party is over the age of 16, then it's four. So if a person who is 19 has sex with a person who is 16, that's arguably passable, but somebody who is 21 would be convicted of statutory rape.

So...well I don't know what that says for an "agreed-upon legal point". Also, there's the overlap with that animal-rights thread, in which there's an argument about whether consent can properly be applied to other animals or whether that would be pointless. But I digress somewhat.

Shoot, I forgot to add. Legal age of adulthood in Australia is 18- that's when you can buy alcohol and cigarettes, as well as several other consent-involved processes. But not learning how to drive, notably...the list goes on.

I really don't understand the whole deal with age of consent... It's very individual, when someone feels ready for things, and the law is just fuzzy anyway... Consent is a strange thing to define.

Oh, and... Fantasies?

Fantasies: the only time no one laughs at you for liking what you do.

I live high on fantasies, well, not the sexual kinds that much. How come some judge on the fantasies one might have? I have heard of many people having a fantasy they want to keep a fantasy, as they are only turned on by it in their imagination.....

Heh, fantasies are safer. A lot of fantasies actually revolve around thinking 'ohhh, that could be HOT' while in reality it might be stupid, dangerous, or disgusting somehow... Even to the person who fantasizes about it.
In fantasies it is possible to sort out all those annoying little facts that take away from potential pleasure, and tweak other things to be better than in real life... I guess that's why so many enjoy computer sex (roleplayed via the interweb).

And I don't know why some people decide to judge upon others' fantasies. Prejudice, perhaps?

So if a person has fantasies about something, they in real life never would do, because it only turn them on in fantasy, you would still think they are disgusting?

And many - roleplayers meet through the internet and get together because of it. It is a vast minority never ever having sex in real life and only doing it online...

And during post-exam conversation today it was pointed out that fantasies can in fact have absolutely nothing to do with real-life predilections. Or they could have everything to do with them.

*stares at fantasies*
We know about Priest, have talked to him too many times to not recoginize him anymore.

Like imagination curing you? If you really believe in something, it is real? ... Uhm, off topic...
... Okay, I had nothing to say...
But sometimes, trying out the fantasies might be good for you. It will show if it is mere fantasies, or something you actually would like to do.
