I corrupt it but don't die a slow painful death... But I actually didn't corrupt it because I will eventually die after experiencing pain in my life, and I can't be saved!

It's not a paradox technically: he can't corrupt the wish himself, only thru others.

Anyway, you get one, but it's gone now due to a tornado. At least seeing that it's gone is an indicator that there was a tornado.
