who thinks communism is good, bad , or misunderstood? i think communism was currupt by that monster Stalin an therefore, it became hard for that form of government to be truely used as Marx had intended it.
Well, in real capitalism, if a worker does a good job, they should move up in the company(get promoted/a raise). There are many true American success stories like this...
Real capitalism? Should?
In Communism, because the government runs everything, everyone is stuck in their job and they can't do much about it, no matter how well they do in their assigned position. Because they don't get paid by merit, they find no reason to excel in their field.
Stuck in the definition of communism as the big bad evil government eh?
This is a monstrous position your taking. First of all, the government doesn't consist of 500000000000000 people, they don't need bunch of surplus value laying around their houses -.-
Unfortunately, not everyone has the mentality of "the good of all." Most people are self-centered and care more about themselves. Thus they set out to work for themselves. If there are no direct benefits to me for my actions, I'm not going to work.
Ehh you work, you get to live. Thats pretty bs saying the world will transfer to a universal laziness. Production is always needed, and because want to survive, they will produce.
For god's sakes..
There is no significant amount of people in our society thinking about they are going to overthrow the government so they get all them power to themselves
Again, you are daydreaming. It's another utopia you are trying to establish where everyone thinks the same. It can't, and won't happen.
Its not a Utopia. The concept is simple. Overthrow bourgeoisie, Give the instruments of production to the proletariat for a democratic rule.
It has nothing do with with making everyone into machines and making them think "WORK FOR OTHERS! OOOOHOHOHOHO!"
Lolz. I would appreciate it if someone actually tried to learn instead of just arguing nonsense.
Btw, a definition of Communism taken from wikipedia: Communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production and property in general.[1][2][3] Leninists have attempted to produce communist societies by setting up political parties, which in some cases have become governments. These attempts have never produced a communist society, and have frequently led to totalitarian states.
Yes, you see that logo " The People" in many communist counrties; North Vietnam: People's Army, People's Air Force China: People's Republic Of China North Korea: Same as china and Vietnam Mario ( Game ): someone made a flash movie called The "People's Mario". The legendary character is now a Communist worker fighting mushrooom-people .
Once you give the means of production to the proletariat, they will then become the next bourgeoisie while trying to keep others below them! They will use their new power to rise to the top. There will be no classless, stateless society! It IS a utopia.
Here in America, I can be anything I want. I could get a job at a supermarket, and after a while, I could get hired as the manager. I could run for local office and effect how things are run around me. I could start my own business and make a very living for myself. It is the latter that I will focus on.
If I opened a business in China(for example), all my surplus money would go to the government. In America, All the surplus money would go back into the business, therefore letting my business grow. In China, my reward for running a good business goes to "wealth redistribution", whereas in America, I could be opening another location with that money. In America, the goal is bettering yourself and bettering those around you in the process. In China, the goal is feeding the elite with your "excess wealth".
One of the main problems is, in Communism, the excess money goes into the cauldron that is called government. And who's holding the spoon? A dictator.
In America, the goal is bettering yourself and bettering those around you in the process.
I haven't seen so much of the latter lately. I think that wealth redistribution, a trait of an ideal communism, (Since you seem to be talking about ideal capitalism, I suppose it's alright for me to talk about ideal communism)benefits everyone.
prehaps you should look up Marxism, because true communism has no leader and therefore promotes more freedom for the people to do what they want. However there is a head of state untile he/she is no longer needed. What the individual dictator does is not a reflection of communism if he resticts democracy, freedom of the media, ect... that is his choice to ruin his people's lives.
Here's an example: About fifty or sixty years ago, a man by the name of Walton opened a store. Because of the Capitalist system, his children now own one of the most successful businesses in history. One man has created thousands, if not millions of jobs around the world, not to mention lower prices for goods... =) Could he have done this in a Communist country? I think not. His "excess wealth" would have gone for "the greater good" instead of going to build Wal-Mart into what it is today.
Well, what exactly is the point of wealth redistribution? All you are doing is giving money to people, letting them squander it, then giving them more money. It is an endless and vicious cycle. there was a study once to see if wealth redistribution would work in America. A research group went to Los Angeles and gave 100 homeless people $100,000 each if the recipients agreed to have their activities studied for a year. After the year was up, 3/4 of the recipients were back on the streets, and 90% of them had spent every last dime of that $100,000. The rich stay that way because they know how to keep their money. More in America could be up with them if they understood that.
Because of the Capitalist system, his children now own one of the most successful businesses in history.
Also one of the most corrupt, if you haven't checked. I don't think anyone who works at Wal-Mart even knows what a Labor Union is.
It is an endless and vicious cycle.
Weird, kind of like capitalism. Make tons of money, go into a depression. Take fifty years to recover, then go into another depression.
The rich stay that way because they know how to keep their money.
The rich stay that way because they've already got enough money that they can protect themselves from an economic loss due to a bad investment.
And who can honestly expect homeless people to know how to spend money in the first place? Chances are they're on the street for a reason. That study's irrelevant because they didn't know what to do with money in the first place.
