I know alot of people avoid thees posts about GOD and Heaven but I just want to know peoples oppions about heaven.Do you belive there is a heaven and if you do what do you think its like?
Jewish belief is not widespread. I think, I may be incorrect, but they make up 1% of all religions found in the world. And the Bible says they will always be at war. And they will succeed in all battles. Which they are doing as we speak. And will as Iran prepares to attempt to destroy them but it will be impossible another promise God made.. Just watch the news. Israel destroys all who enters their land. The Bible speaks the truth. And rafterman, i mention two already, another hmm.. Oh he said his people will be prosecuted, tortured in mass numbers, (Holocaust) of course these aren't the Bibles exact words I would have to go back and look for you if you want. Oh he promised them their own nation. They got it. So many other things that I can't string off the top of my head but I will study it and be happy to inform you of them. and by the way 314d1 please enlighten me when and "oracle" may have been right. Mage you are a very intelligent individual I have to admit. And I see that you do not believe in God? The Christian God? Or even Jesus Christ. The Bible proves all of God's commands on his people. He promised the Jews a home in a book written some 4000 years ago and they recieved Israel? And God's people will always be at war.. look at Israel now? They have enemies on all fronts. Thats no coincidence. God is real. Their our stories all in the Bible fortelling events that actually happened. I just wish you would understand. But Mage you do make very good points and i respect them. I too even doubt God but he finds a way to enter my heart and prove me wrong. All you have to do is open your heart to him and give him your life. You will only then understand.
Thanks, guess I really don't need to say anything here since a couple people already beat me to it. I had already said that vague and self fulfilling prophecies don't cut it and the Bible isn't the only religious text to have these.
Yes pk, BUT in order to talk about Heaven you need to know the background and the creator of everything right? its like trying to make a grilled cheese sandwich without the cheese..
While not always necessary in all cases being you can have an afterlife without a deity, we are currently discussing the Christian version of heaven which without God would most defiantly like making a cheese sandwich without cheese.
If some prophet throws out a bunch of prophecies that last for all eternity, eventually those prophecies will be fulfilled. It's no suprise that in some point in our long history, the prophecies of the Bible were fulfilled. In this sense, the Bible's prophecies cannot be used as a valid argument to support the existence of God.
But God's prophecies all have fulfilled so far. And again I need to read up my Bible to make sure but I think there were 250+ maybe I'm not a biblical scholar just and average teenage boy trying to spreads God's word but And I can list them if ya'll like but I just need to read. Anyways, the only one that has not been fulfilled is Jesus returning, which I believe will be soon.

Like I said, that proves nothing. Lets say, and English prophit prodects a guy named Goerge winning a war. Goerge is a common name in England, and the prophosy has no time limit. It will happen eventualy, becaues it didn't tell when, were, and it only gave a hint of who.

I was riligios as a kid. Did he say " this will happen on this exact time by these exact people...."If not then he didn't. And by saying we can't understand him, thats just what all riligos people back on when all else fails in an attempt to explain why science kicks the crap out of riligion...

Why do half the riligos people run away pretending like they are correct? I hate it when people know they lost, pretend they won, and walk of the forums in shame...
And my last argument, 314, you need to work on your spelling its driving me crazy. And being religious as a kid and all the Sunday school isn't enough, sadly. Of course I know way to little. Again I'm just a 16 year old trying to bring God's love.

Out of all of them there is not a single one that isn't either self fulfilling i.e. event X happened because the people read that it would happen thus actively setting out to fulfill it, or so vague it could be applied to nearly any event.

I guess I'm Satan then... question: How do you know Satan is lying? Did God personally tell you that a non-existent entity representing a metaphorical entity of evil and human flaw is bad? The bible only provides one-sided information; or some call that: propaganda. so you have proof that there is a heaven? If not, "Satan" is telling the truth.
This is the struggle that all of us have to endure on earth, why, because this is where Satan was sent when he fell from grace.
God is willing to murder is only son for us, but is not willing to remove "Satan" the root of evil and injustice in this world?

It goes on to say that all of the kings enchanters, astrologers and diviners were called in to interpret the meaning and none of the wise men were able to.
