@FLipski

More scare tactics. The media is so good at putting fear into the Western World. Every problem that they blow out of proportion end up blowing over. Communism, SARS, Bird Flu, West Nile, Y2K, violence in videogames, and other media love affairs have all been major issues. Communism was going to take over the world, diseases would kill billions, Y2K was going to start nuclear war and Satan would rise, and videogame violence would lead to school shootings everyday.

Personal story: West Nile Virus was supposed to kill thousands in the US according to the media. Around the time when the WNV was in my area, I had a bad cold, so I went to the doctor. He tested me and told me I had WNV. Because of the media frenzy, I was freaking out. He gave me a strange look and just told me to take some NyQuil, and it would go away. He said that there was nothing to worry about and the hype was way too high.

NONE OF THIS CRAP HAPPENED! Nor will global warming. It is another way for the media to scare us into believing something. They thrive on stories like global warming.

It is exaggerated by the media. But how can you deny that human life has caused even a slight change in climate. It undoubtedly has. Our machinery, producing gases, our farming, and livestock. All of this stuff has to have some effect.

HAh ya I remember about the WNV I researched some stuff when the scare was going about, and it wasn't as dangerous as the media made it out to be.

It has been proven that it is happening. Also, I looked at a chart of the average temp of the earth, and it was the same until it got to 1990. Then it went up like crazy. That is also about when factories started. Coincidence? I think not!

@kamoro
Factories began regulating air polllution in the '90s, it is the 70-80's that were the worst pollution era's. so unless you got your dates wrong on accident, you might wanna re-look that up. Cuz that wouldn't make any sense.

Global Warming is a lie. Scientists have actually found that the earth is getting colder.

@kamoro dont you mean 1890 thats when factories started to be built in fact even before that.
@thelistman global warming is clearly happening. The few scientists that deny its existence are the ones that work for the US govt or the ones working for oil companies. There is stacks of evidence showing it. People who deny global warming are no better then people who dont belive in evolution etc.
For your info communism was a real threat during the cold war. SARS and bird flu are still very dangerous as they are deadly and its just lucky the asian authorities have contained the spread.
Y2K did nearly start nuclear war as the russians thought the Americans were about to attack them.
Never heard of West Nile disease.
The point is just because the things which the media overhype dont affect you , it doesnt mean they didnt happen.

To all those who want everyone to live a "greener life", please don't strain yourselves. No one is going to listen as it isn't law and it won't affect them in their life time. Also, if everyone on these forums lived a greener life, it wouldn't make much of a change. Global Warming would persist even without us. But some propagandizers don't know that without Global Warming and our natural Greenhouse Gases we would be in the next ice age, brought you by all those who wanted a "greener" life. Mac_MK, there are many, many, MANY threads about Global Warming, no one is ignoring it, and I couldn't ignore it even if I wanted to, and I really want to.

Well, no one cares what anyone one says about a "greener life" or "going green for the globe" I don't even celebrate "Earth Day" because I don't believe in it. I know all about GW, it's very hard to explain, it has to do about how much energy that we use to put the world going to fast and the sun and it's too hard for me to explain, I'm a bad explainer. Find yourself a walking explanation but it is impossible.

Global Warming would persist even without us.

Yes, but if we reduce our usage of fossil fuels, we can at least prevent if from reaching its full potential. If we cut back now, in the year 2100 atmospheric CO2 may be at around 500ppm. If we continue our usage as we are right now, it will be up around 1,000ppm. So no, we cannot stop it. But we CAN reduce the impact.
