The greatest song ever

I loved that song because it contained everything that I thought was right in America. Now that Obama has been elected, I am very disappointed in my country. As of now, I am taking down the american next to Agent_86 and replacing it with the Filipino flag(for any questions about why the Filipino flag, ask me on my profile).

I AM NO LONGER PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.

*cracks up laughing*

I lol-ed a little myself... hehe.

Ya I have been embarrassed to say I'm American for the past 8 years. Finally, just maybe, the world wont be laughing at us. Hopefully we will stop making stupid mistakes in doing things that we have no business doing, and concentrating on the important things right in front of us.

I completely agree. The last time I traveled abroad, we would tell people we were from Canada instead of America because we would automatically get a bad reaction from mentioning we were Americans. I can actually feel a little pride in my country now.

Ya wow that sucks, but its true. When you say you are American you always get weird/rude comments or they kind of pick on you more. Its sad. I think one great thing Obama will do, without even making any effort is show the world that Americans aren't so bad, and that we are respectful and Open to having non-white people ruling our country. And hopefully this will show the world that we are not ignorant red-necks, and maybe improve our diplomatic standing in the world.

That might take some work, but I think Obama is a step in the right direction for that.

Yep. However, once we would say "But we don't like our president either", people would immediately warm up. So it is very obvious what they disapproved of about America.

Oh I think it will definitely make a difference. The majority of the international community prefers Obama over McCain, and agree that Bush is one of the major reasons why they have a lower opinion of the U.S. This is definitely a step in the right direction as far as foreign relations go.

Ya very true. I'm finally happy about my government. Lets hope it works out well and that we see some good policy changes in the near future.

Ya I agree. We had the choice between someone who wants to improve our country and take it into the future, and someone who will keep it the same. We definitely need to be forward thinking, and looking to advance our country, or we will get left behind.

Oh, did Obama win? (I'm in Japan, and they didn't show on the news) That's fantastic! I can finally have the guts to say I'm an American Japanese and be proud of it, because we don't have a monkey sitting at the desk! This will be four steps in the right direction, we will finally get the help we deserve in this country, we will finally get to be a stronger country and be the #1 country. (Japan is currently #1, but hopefully Obama changes that for you guys)

Oh by the way Reddies, I'm waiting... where's the part you said where Obama was going to send America to the trash can in the first day hmm? (LAFF)

I'm not proud to be an american

Well, since looking at your profile, I can see that you truely are taking America for granted. You have no grasp of true politics yet youngin, so just wait patiently and your time will come. Just watch and see. Dubya had a 33% approval rating, which most of that was in the deep south of the country. Obama will have near 70-80 during his time in office, just wait and see.

BLUE!! BLUE!! BLUE!! Indiana was the swing vote in the country! My hometown of Indiana guaranteed Obama's win by giving him the 12 electoral votes he needed. At the end, Obama had a 2:1 ratio over McCain's poor number of electoral votes. Indiana is a blue state and I'm proud to be raised there =)

Did you leave the contenit?

When people refer to themselves as "American" they should know that they could be from North America/ South America/ Central America......

Besides a US citizin that actully hates being a Citinzin of USA, beacuse Obama won, but forgets about the BUSH ERA?

Well, I agree that we needed to change some things, but we don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater here...
Obama is just saying what almost every dem since Kennedy has been saying, which is "wealth redistribution".

Remember, it only took one term of Carter to get us a Reagan.

I'm only 15, and my mom just got a new job a few months ago(for Countrywide of all places), and I really can't right now...

I like how Liberals used to bash Republican's who'd say "leave if you don't like Bush." But now they are doing the same thing!
