I hear a alot of people say that. I'm curious as to why. Training would be a waste if your not going to use it.

you go to A school, and basic training, but you dont need to get a job working for the military.

What? That doesn't make sense. At minimum, most branches require at least one weekend of work doing your specified job that you were trained for after basic training.

i think you have to be in the military for 3 years before you can be discharged.

Well standard time in the military is 4 years. I think it is two for the reserves. No its 4 for an academy too. You get in for free tuition because your paying off those 4 years with your life.

Basically. You know what sucks though? If you get a signing bonus (Up to $20,000) when you join, you have to pay it off when you become an officer.

Yeah you have to read the fine print. I know right now the Army is offering a $40,000 signing bonus. You don't get that much though.

I woudn't join unless my counrty was in peril. We don't need to be in some of the places we are in now.
