The topic says it all. I don't think that it's right. Especially last year when a lot of atheists complained about Christmas trees being called Christmas trees. How stupid is that?
Not stole not took we replaced it we don't say you can't celebrate the old holidays so obviously at the time it was created christmas was more poplular than the pagan holiday's in america atleast
Well I'm atheist and I celebrate it, I think it would be depressing if there was no such thing as christmas! It's a time of joy and kindness, which should apply to all. Who cares if it is mainly sponsered by Christanity? No one but people who beleive in segregation.
Very few super religious people see christmas as something super relious. To many it is a cultural festival, a tradition. Something to look forward to, and be happy about. A time when you can be with your family and friends.
If one doesn't take this time to remember the birth of Christ, I believe it's perfectly acceptable to use this time to spend with family. In my family, this is the ONLY time I get to see my biological father, and most extended family. This thread is only going to keep causing fights because no one will agree on a "happy medium". I think we all need to remember the forum rules on this one; respect one's opinion. We all are from different backgrounds, religions, cultures, etc. Why don't we try to stop singling out a person's views, and just start at the very least, showing some compassion!
Christmas is not only about Christ being born anymore. In fact, it was never only about that. (In my opinion) The bible is meant to be a symbolic book about morality, so Christs Birth represents a gift to humanity (among other things), or generosity. Thus, any generous person can celebrate Christmas. Besides that, I think that we should let anybody do whatever the hell they want (that is legal and morally correct). It isn't about whether or not it is "right" for a people to celebrate a holiday. Really, if we don't let them, we shouldn't let ourselves. Which would be confusing.
That would be weird, cause they don't belive in God. There would be no Christmas if there was no Jesus. That holyday is created because of him, so, atheist shouldn't celebrate Christmas.

Right and dont say the crap about the pagan holidays christmas is celebrated for Jesus, but i would say they can celebrate it...we had this answered by the 3rd page...
Honestly it loks like no one here bothers reading the previous pages.
We have concluded that Christmas originates from and is affected by old pagan traditions and celebrations.
Those who see Christmas as something very religious obviously think atheists shouldn't celebrate it, but most people these days do not see it as something that religious.
Why would it not be right or them to have a good time as the rest of you?
