I research all subjects before I post replies on threads. Saying that a human embryo must die to obtain stem cells is not true. When obtaining adult stem cells, the adult's live is in no real danger, but he will have to go through invasive surgical procedures. When we are trying to get stem cells for research, we usually use embryonic stem cells as they are more adaptable and, in simple terms, easier to work with, using human embryonic stem cells is not common, though. We usually use mouse embryos.
stem cell research is one important field of science which is still way to under-funded. This has the potential to have life saving benefits. I am totally pro stem cell research.
I see Skyla. You know how Communist China only allow one child per couple? This is similar. I am not saying we should go kill babies as birth control. all i am saying is that we could kill two birds with one stone. we could save lives and make them better
I believe 59,000,000 babies die each year due to abortion not to turn this into another abortion argument, but thats i believe close to the deaths in some of the diseases, they COULD cure.
Ive said before its a horrible thing to do!If you are a Christian, this is a question for you. Do you think by killing embreoes/unborn babies pleases God??
we are christian! they are dying because of the choices of non-Catholics or just people who don't want kids. we can't stop them;we might as well use the dead unborn babies for something rather than waste something so precious as a child's life
We were talking about this in my government class the other day, and my teacher said that studies were being done that showed that fat from an adult's body contains stem cells. Solution? Liposuction: Get skinny and save a life at the same time!
tanstaafl28, I beg to differ. Embryos are, as you said, technically not babies, but they have started forming. That is like saying an egg isn't a chick. That is technically true. However, the chick has begun forming. this cycle mustn't be reversed.
