I was looking at the topics at the tavern and saw a topic called is santa real? So taking inspiration from that and also isn't george bush's time in the seat nearly over? It is isn't it so i started remembering all the amazing things he has done for the american people and all the people in the world also i remembered all the fabulous speaches he has made in his career and i thought to my self is he real or is he not. Something this good can't be real so that is why i think he is not.
Think about what you just said for a minute, and maybe you'll understand why it wouldn't be the smartest thing to say around black people.
So its okay to say bush looks like a monkey? Think about what you just said... Now if you say anything about obama that is negitive your called a racist by thees liberals.
Listen im not racist at ALL.And I cant stand the idiots who are.So im sorry if my comment affected anyone ( like Zootsuit)just stating the facts.
The fact is that your comment looked very racist. That is not the point. The point is this topic is about bush not obama and for obama to be judged he needs at least two years as president. And whoever says bush looks like a monkey I think it is hi ears. They are actually like monkey ears, this does not relate to his intelligence or his actions just his look thnx
Actually, I don't think it affended anyone, Zootsuit sounds like he was just giving you a point, the Black community is the 'roughest' community based on race in the US. Maybe it was a joke.
Anyway, this is irrelevant.
George Bush, unfortunateley, is real. He Phailz@Life. And i don't like him.
I dont understand why everybody says bush looks like a monkey... Look at obama <_<

Monkey is a racist term that has been used for years against blacks. When my dad first came to England people called him monkey boy and asked where his tail was and told him to fuck off back to the jungle etc, so dont be calling black guys monkeys its a pretty quick way to start a fight.

No offence but uh get over it. I have im white i get called crap I'll the time i really don't care anymore...also i don't have a problem with Bush i don't think were really going to know if he was good or bad til twenty so years after he gets out of office.

First of all it didnt happen to me it happened to my dad. Second of all there is absolutely no context with which you can compare black on white racism to white on black racism. Hundreds of thousands of slaves died, later on in the 30s-60s thousands were lynched and attcked by whites excluding of course the decades of the lack of civil rights. That is why whatever white people say about not caring about racism it is because they have never truly experienced it.
Being called a monkey, especialy being african is offensive, it harkens back to slavery for one thing. It is not slavery many are still pissed off about, but the when someone calls you a nigga or a monkey they are implying you are inferior to them. In addition whatever racism you have encountered being white whether it is cracker or whiteboy or wigga is pretty insignificant compared to being told to fuck off back to the jungle and being told to show people your tail.

I know and they were ignorant and mistaken, but THEY were ignorant and mistaken.

I wont deny that, but I mean not to be insensitive but like i said we have to move on or racism will continue more so.
I get yor point about moving on and again i agree with you that blacks shouldnt receive special treatment for what happened to their forefathers, however it is naiive to think that people should forget what happened completely. Racism is a large part of American history and it is important that it is not forgotten.

Forgotten no "He who forgets his past is doomed to repeat it" but forgiven yes.
Wow, looks like I just got called out by Zootsuit_riot over here on my last post. Okay, I'll try to address everything you mentioned.
No, both the SAT and ACT, as well as most of the standardized tests these days, aren't about the material. They judge how well you can take the test. You know who makes up the standardized tests for each state, as well as the SAT and ACT? Not teachers. Not schoolboard members. Not administrators or superintendents. They're written by the Educational Testing Service-a company that also writes tests for butchers, golf pros, and health inspectors.
Yeah buddy, of course I know who writes the SAT. The question is do you? Sure the ETS writes them, but who at the ETS does? How about current and former teachers of that subject? And why would administrators or superintendents write that exam? All they know is paperwork and bureaucracy. And standardize test do NOT test how well you can take a test, that's just stupid. They do test on the material. If you know it, you'll get the right answers. It's a simple as that. Now as far as SAT and ACT are concerned, if you responded with "they only test for a student's socioeconomic class" I would have given you bonus points there. Yes, it's true, the only statistic that has a high correlation to high SATs and ACTs is socioeconomic class.
Seriously? It's my friend's fault for trying to get as much math in as possible to leave his class options open for the rest of high school, and then ending up being shafted because of a ridiculous test? These tests may be useful for the lower 10% of the high school classes, but those such as my friend and I are almost being punished for taking high-level classes.
Yeah, you wanna know why it's your fault? Here's an amazing fact. Students who retain at least 30% of what they learned in college make on average 100% more than their peers who don't. Thirty percent! That's it. Retaining knowledge is more important than just blindly learning new things. The greatest ideas are born from people who can build on previous knowledge. If you thought the test material was "sooo simple" then why would it be hard at all? Don't complain.
Recently, a CBA (Classroom Based Assessment) has been added to the curriculum of history and music classes for all grades. In this project, students are required to research a topic that interests them, or focus on a certain song they wish to perform, and then present what they have learned in front of the class. Not only does it encourage the students to do research, the CBA lets the teenagers look into something that they didn't know about before, and broadens their horizons.
Now tell me, do all teachers want to evaluate a CBA? Let alone do all students have an interest of research? Try implementing this in a low socioeconomic area.
The reason standardized test are there is because they are the only overall method of testing everyone. It' true that they're not extremely effective, but it's the best option right now.
