I came home all the way from bloody Yorkshire and was looking forward to playing a lovely bit of GH4. I turn it on and lo and behold the 3 red rings appear. I try all the advice they give u on xbox 360 website but i am convinced it is a hardware problem and will probably have to send it off.
It is this type of thing that makes me want to go out and buy a PS3 *blasphemy*
As much as I like the xbox belive it is despicable that Microsoft allowed the 360 to be released without fixing such a serious fault in the machine. What do you think?
i havent gotten rings, but i think the reason is because people keep them on too long while they are standing vertically. there is a fan on the bottom, which i would say is a serious design flaw. when the fan cant cool the system down it gets the rings.
Something else that is wrong with the xbox, the lens that scans the game. on regular dvd players, there is pads that go around it to protect the disc. the xbox doesnt have this. sometimes when you even touch the xbox while its playing, it makes a strange crunching noise and the game gets a perfect circle around the disk, rendering it useless. it happened to me on my fable 2 i just bought.
The RROD is fixed on newer consoles with the Jasper.
(almost fixed it will never be totaly fixed.)
Xbox 360 did have a lot of problems before but now the most of them is fixed.
Whats the Jasper? I still think its really bad that a console with such serious hardware problems can be allowed to come onto the market. Microsoft shouldve taken longer and fixed the problems before the release.
My xbox had rings FOUR times and the last one it took 1 month and 2 days for it to get back.
It took one of my m8s under a week to get back, i guess its luck of the drawer. Also the couriers havent picked up the bl00dy thing yet. I doubt i will play before i go away.
I have both systems as well. I have survived the three rings as well. It took MS a month to send me a refurb system. We are considering only buying the base system next time and starting out new as MS seems to have solved the problem on only the new systems.

MM. If the one that gets sent back to me breaks agaion then il just buy a new one. My point is that we shouldnt have to. MS should have fixed it long ago or delayed the release of the 360.
Good News guys, those lazy @ss couriers finally got off their fat @sses and got round to picking up my 360 4 days after they were meant to. Fingers crossed they get it back to me before i go away.
