I am amazed that no one has posted a thread about this seeing as what has been going on in the past 8 days.

If you didnt know 8 days ago 60 f16s dropped bombs and fired missiles into Gaza, responding to missiles being fired by Hamas into Israel.

What do you think of this incident.

I think that it is going to escalate into something much, much bigger. Israel is already preparing to launch infantry into Palestinian territory, and the missile strikes are continuing.

Personally, I don't like the United States' involvement with Israel. They're as big an instigator as anyone in Hamas, and if they end up getting blown off the map, so be it. At this point, I think the United States is only still trading with Israel because they're the only country that likes us in the Middle East.

Opinion polls show that many younger israelis and palestinians do want peace. I belive that if other countries like the US and Iran stayed out of it, this conflict could be solved much quicker.

Look if the Palestinians think that they can lob a few small missiles into Israel and not get a response they are complete idiots.

That's what they get for being complete idiots.
I completely agree with whats Israel is doing.

Then again looking at the original reason for the conflict the Palestinians think it is rightfully their land, so its not as simple as that.

Why do the Palestinians carry on throwing some pathetic missile when they know they are going to get blown to pieces.

They have some real big headed idiot military commanders in there.
Unless its some rebels doing it.

But anyway, I agree with Israel doing what they do. They are doing what they have to do, - teaching them that if they lob missiles into their country this is what they get.

Dont forget, the Palestinians arent the ones that started it. When the Israelis originally took over Gaza they rolled in with tanks and took it by force killing many people in the process. It is only quite recently Gaza was returned to the Palestinians.

Also don't forget that the Israelis and Palestinians had a cease-fire that Hamas broke by firing rockets into Israel.

Seems like you are generalising about all palestinians. Its Hamas not all Palestinians. Its not like the Israelis always play fair either when you look at the history,

The problem is it is both their land and they both have strong claims to it. Their are two solutionsa they carry on blowing to lumps of sunday out of each other for ever or PEACEFULLY sort something out. Then agin the west created this problem by making promises they didn't think how they would keep so we should help but what we are doing know is obviously not helping.

Personally, i support the bombing of the Gaza Strip 100%. The Hamas are a dangerous threat to the Middle East and the world, they need to be eliminated.

Ric, do you also support the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands of inoccent palestinian civilians?

I don't support the death of them, i think it is sad they have to die. But if a dangerous organization like that, that is threatening to more than a thousand civilians, then it must be done. Say we did not eliminate the Hamas because of those citizens, and later the Hamas pulled off terrorist acts that killed 4x times the amount of civilians that are dieing now, isn't that a raw deal? You have to make sacrifices sometimes to prevent greater devastation later.

"It's all for the greater good".

And, no, i hate my media. I do not listen to it, it is biased and corporal to suit the bosses whims. The only channel i watch is C-SPAN.

Indeed. Despite the fact i wholheartedly agree with the destruction of Hamas and indeed all other extremist groups, bear in mind these airstrikes kill innocents aswell.

Often the attacks perpetrated by Hamas kill far less than the air strikes by Israel.
