On the contrary, Hitler was very intelligent and charismatic. He just got the crazy idea that Jews were the cause of all problems and decided that the world would be 'erfect' without them and numerous other religions, ethnic groups, etc.
Ligaboy is correct. Hitler indeed was charismatic (he convinced the Germans into declaring WWII and killing Jews, besides that they loved him) and he was intelligent (if he was retarded he would of been defeated immediately). He was somewhat insane crazy and extremely racist though. If he was not crazy, he could of won WWII.
Hitler had his apptitude problems. Some people say he was a jew, some that he was gay. And he was born at Austria. Hitler blamed them all for ruining Germany. If he was those all, he had somekind self-hating problem. And some theories say that he was an extreme masochist.
Can you clarify that I know he was Austrian but what difference does that make?
I admire the way he got into power. Once the Munich Putsch failed he did it "roperly" and some of the things he did were quite clever (or lucky I suppose).
There is no real evidence that he was a Jew. The theory seems to stem from the fact his grandmother worked as a servant for some rich Jewish people.
Not sure about his sexuality he did have a wife after all.
Though he was charismatic, later on (if I remember my GCSE history right) he withdrew sllightly. He spent longer weekends away at his holiday home refusing to see people. And would focus on pet projects rather than the running of the country.

Hitler was not retardeed, but he was definitely not as intelligent as people tout him to be. His military stupidity cost Germany the war. His rise to power wasdn't exactly due to his political nous, rather it was down to the Great Depression, the fear of the communists and the German hatred of the treaty of versailles.
Looking at primary sources of those that knew Hitler, very few describe him as intelligent.
Obviously, his policies on racism and hatred are unacceptable. But he brought Germany from the poorest country in the world, to the greatest military might the world had ever seen in about 10 years. He was also an amazing speaker and charismatic leader.
If you do not understand what the hell is with Hitler and art school then I'll tell you. Hitler was planning to be an artist but then he was rejected, so that would be the beginning of a path that would lead him to WWII and his own suicide.

I agree with you, he certainly was crazy and racist but he revived Germany's economy and restored it's military power in LESS than six years. What Roosevelt did for the US economy, he did for Germany's economy and military.
Hitler was not a bad person, when you think about it. He was an intelligent fellow. No one tried to stop him, they underestimated him at first, and Germany was treated as an inferior compared to other countries. For example, the League of Nations forced Germany to disarm after the first world war, while all the other European countries kept their armies. When Hitler took control, he managed to get the League to agree to allow Germany to rearm it's navy but to a limit of 35% of that of Britain. Later on he rearmed without permission and marched troops into the Rhineland, which was supposed to be a non-militarized zone. He was not punished and assumed he would not be stopped as he continued in his search for power, so he went on to conquer the Sudetenland of Czechslovakia and later the rest of the country, and so on. When Britain and France finally did decide to stop him, it resulted in the second World War.
If the other European powers hadn't allowed him to go on and if France had stopped him when he tried going in to the Rhineland, he wouldn't have become addicted to getting power.
He was good speaker in speeches and was very convincing, and that is why he was supported by his people all the way through.
Most historians would consider him more of a gambler than an astute master of foreign policy. It was more the failings of Britain and France with their policies of appeasement than Hitler's intelligence in my opinion.
i think that hitler was an evil man but somewhat misunderstood i think he wanted what was best for his country but probably became obsessed with it and went crazy and eventually started ww2 and teh deaths of millions.
