Lucifer means "light-bearer", which makes a reference towards the fact that Satan tries to trick us, because he is a demon though his name is that of an angel. Yes, I know that Lucifer was an angel at first.

Sooooo. . .God knew that Lucifer was going to defect, so he named him like that to trick humans? That completely shatters the whole 'free will' thing. . . .
We seem to be straying off topic. Satan has nothing to do with the biblical rapture. I will also reaffirm my convictions that the rapture was something created not too long ago... maybe during the Second Great Awakening, if not sooner.

This is a difficult concept, but God knows what will happen. He doesn't force us to do anything because we can choose what we do, but he knows what will and won't happen because he knows us, since he formed us in the womb.
For those who are going to bash me for forcing my views on people (there usually is at least one), this goes under the assumption that God exists.

He, and therefore I, were talking about Lucifer.
If God named him Lucifer to be a deceiver, then Lucifer would have no free will not to be a deceiver - he would be bound to do so because of how god named him and made him for.
actually lucifer wasn't always bad he was the highest ranking angel, but then being the highest ranking angel went to his head and he thought he was greater than God so then he became the devil and became bad.
