Another one for you guys: Was Jesus a lunatic, a good teacher, God, or something else? This should get interesting...

I think "RE" needs to go back and do some research.

My R.E. teacher was a legend. His sthle of teachin was lock the door, turn on the TV and have a nap till the lesson is over. He was like 50 and then he left to marry a Canadian model. but hey I got an A* in the xam what do I care.

I like this quote by CS Lewis as it sums up what I believe.

"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

If that is how he teaches, then I don't think there is any reason to believe any of the stuff he makes you learn.

Meh... he didn't teach me anything. Once he left we got a good "normal" teacher. Who had weird teaching methods like teaching us stuff relavent to the course.

The Jews told the Romans that Jesus was claiming to be a king which obviously was against roman law so they killed him its all in John 19

Jesus was falsely accused of blaspheme and several other crimes. The Pharisees and their buddies were afraid they would lose their popularity, so they needed some excuse to tell the Romans to execute Him. Pilot and Herod couldn't find any evidence against Jesus. Since Pilot didn't want the Jews to start rioting, he just handed Jesus over to the Jews to be crucified. Of course, the Jews were not authorized to execute anyone, so the job was given to Herod. Herod wrote a sign that stated Jesus's crime, just like what he did to every criminal. On the sign, it said, "This is Jesus of Nazareth, the king of the Jews". So, being the king of the Jews was officially Jesus's crime.
