I've noticed that all of the 0 AP ghost accounts are ranked #88,270. So, if there is a way to delete a designated amount of accounts, then Dan or another admin could delete a few thousand accounts below that mark a day, and the ghost accounts would be nixed slowly but surely. Any thoughts?
Look, ghost accounts take up no space, so what does it matter? And besides, when youfirst join, you re allso very far down there. And there are alot of people that have accounts to simplei read what others say about the game. So there accounts, as well as new users will all be lost.
No, you missed the point. They use them, but not to get AP. On this site you need to be a member to veiw feedback on the games, so they make on, and look at the feed back.
The real problem here is the fact that people post on ghost accounts for points. The solution should address this. Deleting these accounts is addressing a symptom of the problem not the cause, being spammy users. In any case ghost accounts will build up over time, so it is only a short term fix.
Possibly giving staff and mods a notification every time someone posts on an account with 0 AP could help catch the AP whores, as well as harsher measuers for users found to be spammers would be more appropriate, at least in my opinion.

Firefly that is probably one of the few original ideas on how to deal with ghosts accounts I have heard in a long time. Not sure how much it would work, but I like it.
I personally agree with thisisnotanalt on this issue. I find it quite irritating to see my rank be on the top 5%, but not actually know how good that is because of all the ghost accounts. As for new players who don't have any AP who's accounts would get deleted by this, if they're so inactive as to not have a single armor point, why would they mind so much about having their empty account deleted?

Well if they spend the time to register to get on just so they can view comments left on games then I don't think they would want to waist their time re-registering now that I think about it.

that's wrong i hosted a server for a game and each ghost account even though it was empty took up space...course it was small only about 4kb but multiply that by 100,000
How would it take forever? My friend runs a forum website, and if AG code is anything like that, he can select as many people as he wants and delete them in one shot. You could get rid of all the current ghost accounts in under 10 minutes.
Sorry for double post, but I just saw Graham's message. The thing is, even multiplied by 100k, that's about 400mb, which on a gaming site is less than nothing.
