ForumsWEPRDon't you think it's moot when people tell you they are Atheists?

I'll start this off by saying not all atheists do this...

But, there are some individuals that practically run around screaming that they are Atheist!

I don't have anything against atheists, It's just that I find it rude when some people decide that I care that they are an Atheist.

I really don't care. I don't tell everyone I meet that I am a Lutheran 3 minutes into the conversation.

So, tell your stories about people you've met, and your opinion on people telling you about their religion or non-religion.

Somehow the discussion is spinning out of control.

If you would please refrain from discussing the rights and wrongs of religion and atheism and go back to the conversation about people stating their believes for no reason.

Not who people are looking down at, or who hates who and all that, because it is pretty much off topic to me, and should be moved to the threads of that purpose.

It's a step from the generic that you get 24/7 in every single Politic/Religion forum. Also, it's not off-topic, the topic was a question which was branched out into religion. If we have certain limit of free speech explicitness before censorship please do give me a chart else wise I find this acceptable.

I just find it slightly annoying that people end up discussing something with only a partly relation to the topic.
To me this topic is about weird statements with no relation to the topic, like... Talking about the weather and get a "I am gay" back.

But sure, just saying that half of that discussion ended up being statements about religion, and not much on the topic.

Sorry for asking politely.

On the topic, I wonder why people have the urge to burst out information randomly. Like people talking on the phone in the bus, about their entire life and who they do not like. It is just as rude to me, as bursting out statements in the middle of a nonrelated conversation.
Not talking in the phone, but talking loudly in the phone in a bus. From the moment you get on the bus. To the moment you get out.

Ok, I had to jump in again after that last post.

Free Speech does -not- allow people to go off topic and let the thread stay. It also does nor let people say whatever they want. You are allowed free speech so far as it does not break the rules of site agreed upon when you signed up. Anything seen as going against these rules or that is in need of re-directing shall be taken care of as seem fit.

That said....get back to the topicst hand please, before this just becomes an amorphous blob of flaming.

What was YOUR urge to burst out in talking about a person talking on a phone on the bus?

How was it entirely out of place? Just because we're not posting about how you broke into tears laughing when your friend told you he was Athiests (because I'm sure everybody who posted in this thread had that happen to them this week) doesn't mean I'm telling you the forecast in the Chicago and then simply calling you homosexual. Atheism is a belief > religion > Christianity. It's not like I pulled it our my buttox.

How did I break the contract of which I agreed upon when I registered? And even so, should we go back to rambling about the generics for 10 more pages before this thread dies and a new thread forms about religion 5 hours later?

That said....get back to the topicst hand please, before this just becomes an amorphous blob of flaming.

What amazes me is hoe everyone can expect a forum to go in perfect order about one topic, in this case, how hilarious it is when someone deviates from your Christian belief. I'm running out of instances when I laugh out loud when my friends tell me their Atheists. I usually don't ask them and I usually don't find this a laughing matter.

Talking about the weather and having someone state their sexuality? I think you misunderstood... This topic. Discusses why some people states something without relation to the topic at hand.
Like the example.
I was not comparing your statements with the example.

The topic at hand. That people can be annoying and rude in many ways. Not just when it comes to religion or sexuality, but when they ignore all other people and talks in the phone loud enough for the entire bus to be embarrassed.
I would not say it was a burst either, as it was more on topic than talking about demigods...

You also misunderstood. I understood you were trying to go off topic to represent the extreme of something on topic. In this case, my off-topicness. What I did before was the same concept. Thereby making you a hypocrite. Also, you should answer my original question of whether there is a scale I should be aware of that measures how I am posting bizarrely irrelevant opinions. I think Atheism > Christianity > Gods > Demigods isn't like Atheism > Christianity > Weather > Homosexuality. You're comparing apples to oranges.

I agree, in my case, I'm a very potpourri. In your case, you're annoying like a politician. You never answer my questions.

No.
I was not comparing anything to your off topicness...
I was comparing something to the topic.

Also, you should answer my original question of whether there is a scale I should be aware of that measures how I am posting bizarrely irrelevant opinions.

There is. It is called site etiquette. If you post off topic, the thread gets killed. Especially if there is a thread for what you are stating.

I think Atheism > Christianity > Gods > Demigods isn't like Atheism > Christianity > Weather > Homosexuality.

Topic: Is it rude that people state their beliefs without relation to a given topic.
So You talking about atheistm and religion in general is off topic... Because it is not as much a religious thread as a thread to discuss how little people care about etiquette...

You're comparing apples to oranges.

And you are still ignoring the topic...

I agree, in my case, I'm a very potpourri. In your case, you're annoying like a politician. You never answer my questions.

My urge was to get the discussion back on topic. Seemingly I have failed, as you are unable to see the actual thread purpose, it seems...

But oh well. I will leave you with this. If you are going to discuss the topic, or keep in your track, that is entirely up to you. Just try not to get this locked for being off topic, okay?

Thereby making you a hypocrite

you're annoying like a politician

Somehow you remind me of my kid brother. He usually do not care about what other just said, does not listen, and twist the words of others.
Also, you remind me of Priest, but at least he had a tendency of being right, though rude.

Stop contradicting yourself after each post.

No.
I was not comparing anything to your off topicness...
I was comparing something to the topic.

So you saying I was talking about weather and calling you gay is not comparing my off-topicness? So what was it?

There is. It is called site etiquette. If you post off topic, the thread gets killed. Especially if there is a thread for what you are stating.

I'm glad you noticed, maybe next time the thread would go smoother without you mini-modding. It's counter-productive. Also, you STILL haven't answered how I was off topic talking about Christianity and Gods. They are related unlike weather and homosexuals.

If you cared to read about the earlier pages leading up to the conversion you'd notice I didn't blurt out let's talk about Atheism and Religion. I could say the same that you started an off topic conversation about weather and gays. But I won't because I'm not desperate to justify myself. Answer how so that we can only discuss how rude it is when someone says their Atheist? That's one side of a story. What if you want to discuss how you get irritated when Christians force views on you? Should I start a whole new topic? This thread is one sided, one pronged, a fanclub. If you want Fanclub forum. I suggest you post a thread about how the weather is related to homosexuals if you really believe what you post is not just moot.

And you are still ignoring the topic...

Using snippets to make me look foolish. But people usually read the whole sentence. For example, that's like this:

Also, you remind me of Priest

What does that mean? Please mind to post the whole sentence.

My urge was to get the discussion back on topic. Seemingly I have failed, as you are unable to see the actual thread purpose, it seems...

Your urge was to try to control and moderate every single thing that happened in this thread...like a monderator.

Somehow you remind me of my kid brother. He usually do not care about what other just said, does not listen, and twist the words of others.
Also, you remind me of Priest, but at least he had a tendency of being right, though rude

If you had read, I am an arrogant egotistical maniacal jerk. If you were calling verbal ceasefire and them comparing me to a Priest and your little brother, you insist on having the last word. Bad quality. I have it too.

and twist the words of others.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

Sibling resemblance much?

But oh well. I will leave you with this. If you are going to discuss the topic, or keep in your track, that is entirely up to you. Just try not to get this locked for being off topic, okay?

I wish it would be so.

Nooooo.....

This topic is plunging to the depths of meaningless...

Anyway, I came here to ask why is the topic title changed again?

First it was "Don't you think it's rude when people tell you their Atheists?"

Then it became "Don't you think it's cute when people tell you their Atheists?"

Now it is "Don't you think it's moot when people tell you their Atheists?"

What's the deal with that?

I think we should all hop back on topic .

It seems to me that that the consensus is that no matter what your religious affiliation, it is rather rude and annoying to blurt out what your beliefs are when it has no place in the conversation, if you are even having a conversation with said person in the first place.

THANK YOU!!

We are NEVER going to agree with each other regarding religion. I think we need to just start tolerating it. We don't have to agree, but we don't have to tear someone down for their choice. We all have agency to choose our own path.
