First off, I want to tell everyone that I do not mean this offensively. It's just a suggestion. I hope to NOT get a lot of negative feedback.

Okay, to the mods and admins: For some reason, you guys are different from us average users(Please don't list them by power). Fine, but there are some things that you could improve on:

You're voice. I'm not saying that you're dull and boring. I'm saying that the only person that has a childish posting style is Zophia. The rest of you, you just write normal posts that explain what you want to say and is straight to the point. But that's kind of well... a bit boring(please don' tell me of my controversial statements. I know! But my vocabulary is very low at the end of the day).

I'm not asking the current mods to change their life style.

My suggestion is, that the next mod(who will probably turn up in the next year or so(hopefully)) should be someone who is popular among the members because they are a good site member while also colorful and exciting.

This post may be a bit too far into the future thing, but I believe it could really help out.

STICK TO THE STATUS QUE

What do you mean by that? I also think you mean "Quo" not "Que".

When is your birthday? I'm going to buy you a Bounce House, the really, really, big kind.

Oh then I'd spend pleeeenty of time with you in that bouncehouse *wink*. Heheh.

Anyways, Mods do kinda have an apathetic mood to me. Strop can be a bit fun, but I tend to go "whut" at him more than I understand him. Zoph is alot more fun, I admit that. Moe is a debater... The next mod should be a little more fun, like zoph. You know, a peoples person.

"whut" at him more than I understand him.

Isn't that how half the Mods are??? No fence to them, but srs Mods are srs indeed.

I personally find Strop Strap humorous, Carlie carefree, NoName spontaneous, Uber completely random, Zophy often off topic and fun, and... Yeah!

The mods are funz!

But a humorous carefree spontaneous random new mod would be funz!

Over the course of some months I traded the lulz in for more efficient conduct. If I were more leisurely I would have more lulz but right now I'm busting my a** over a career, so something had to give D:

There are two big downsides of being flippant or using an idiosyncratic tone in your posts:

1) People who wish to exploit opportunities for poor behaviour by equivocating find it much easier to do so when the moderator is being casual.

2) Casual tone often causes things to be lost in translation, which is particularly bad when interpretation of the rules is subtle.

Furthermore, interpretation of our behaviours changes depending on how familiar you are with us. Those who know us better are more likely to see us in a personal light. Otherwise we're just doing a job and waving banhammers in your general direction (and occasionally directly at you).

Also, I found this funny:

...even if they are sarcastic and serious...

It's Strop! It is good that everything has been cleared up, now...

muahahahahahahaaaaa~

I may not be a Breakfastarian but I still have an awesome evil laugh!

...another contributing factor to my tone is my blood glucose level. If I am grumpy, chances are I'm hypoglycaemic due to lack of food.

Funnily enough I find Strop utterly childish most of the time, Zophia is slightly depressed at times, Devoidless makes the best lock comments, really.
Noname has a lot of humour as well (How to become a moderator-thread?)
And I still remember the thread about how AG looks for the mods, and how much fun both users and moderators had.

I definitely have to agree with Strop. After the first person tries to misquote you because you were not being clear enough, you tend to be pretty careful about what you write. And being in a mod/admin position does make you think twice about posting certain ways. I have definitely had to edit before posting many of my posts/comments because I just see things that people could take the wrong way, or misquote. It definitely affects the way you write.

Personally, I don't think any of the mods are stuffy. But like Strop said, that is probably because you are going to see more of the personality of the people you talk with more on the site.

As far as picking someone because they are colorful and fun... well we obviously want to have mods that are pleasant, but that isn't the only reason that we pick people. Everyone always wants us to pick the most popular people on the site, but it really will not work well if we do that. Pretty much all I can say is, we have used our method so far, and it has been working really well, so we are going to keep going with that. Which means focusing more on good qualities as opposed to how 'colorful' the person is.

Mods have issues. You, lack of food, Zoph, lack of sleep, the list goes on...

That was a good time. Still hoping with could go to wa... What's that humming sound...

Just saying that people you know (especially in the Art section, we are all stoned there) is more likely to show their real personality. And make you understand them better.
On the other hand Strop thinks I actually know Carlie, just because I am not finding her mean like some do... > >...
