First off, I want to tell everyone that I do not mean this offensively. It's just a suggestion. I hope to NOT get a lot of negative feedback.
Okay, to the mods and admins: For some reason, you guys are different from us average users(Please don't list them by power). Fine, but there are some things that you could improve on:
You're voice. I'm not saying that you're dull and boring. I'm saying that the only person that has a childish posting style is Zophia. The rest of you, you just write normal posts that explain what you want to say and is straight to the point. But that's kind of well... a bit boring(please don' tell me of my controversial statements. I know! But my vocabulary is very low at the end of the day).
I'm not asking the current mods to change their life style.
My suggestion is, that the next mod(who will probably turn up in the next year or so(hopefully)) should be someone who is popular among the members because they are a good site member while also colorful and exciting.
This post may be a bit too far into the future thing, but I believe it could really help out.

I just want to take the time to laugh a thousand and one times for the mistakes people have made. And since that thread was locked, I'll explain here, and then move on:
...Is my name that hard to spell? XD Sheen tet soo double-U EH!! The only time that people got my name right is if they say the shortened "Shin", otherwise, they are either really close, or just dead wrong. I commend y'alls for tryin' though =)
You gotta understand that the staff wants to make sure that their choice is the best. Obviously, if something completely wrong happens, the community will be in a brief state of opinionated communism, before he gets taken down. They don't want that to happen, so that's why they keep tabs for people who they think may be experienced enough for the job. And believe me, it will be a job. The status of a mod is a heavy burden. When a troll threatens the community and you're the only mod active on the forums, they, the members, rely on YOU to take care of it.
Well, they're not always serious. Zophs april fools joke anyone?
I hope that Strop joke thing isn't real. Because I just went onto the Leader board and got to his profile. And the other one I haven't looked at yet.

Its iffy. Some things are being pushed a little, but it's really nothing to worry about. What Zophia and Ubertuna did was more of a confession/ending statement thread. Well, Zophia's was about Strop. The point is, even though making a thread about someone or yourself is against the rules, alt made a thread to attract attention to himself, Zoph and UT did it to scare the daylights out of the community.

That's got nothing to do with the mods. We don't run the site, we just perform forum, user and comment clean-ups. So that's not mods pushing their power, that's devs with admin status making decisions about what is important.
Also, we don't push our powers. We have them. We use them when we deem it necessary. Do you think any of us abuse them? You can complain about mods if you think their judgement was unfair. It could have been.

It has already been explained why it may seem at times that us mods are all business and barren of humour. It is a job, you know. Every job requires some form of, well, working. Same goes for joking around and noming on the arms/legs/faces of users. I for one nom atleast one thing a day inorder to meet my mandated nom quota. Mandated by a man someone dated I suppose.
Personally, my humour/sarcasm has always been on the dry side. To the point that I may seem to have none. Also, I started as being fairly no nonsense and blunt when I was still a user. Mainly because I was debating and ripping arguments apart with sharp, pointy teeth(the like before only seen on a bunny). Heck, I'm still the same. But now I'm a mod. So...I am the same but different.
Also! My thread locking posts are pretty delicious, if I do say so myself. Which I do, because I just did. Go through the Tavern a few pages back and look at my locking posts. They're pretty 'tight.'

Makes it sound like a job requirement. Means that loads of happy people (Like me) can't be mods. Shame.... I'd rather trade my mod power than my sarcasm, it's my trademark.
