I don;t like guns and don;t understand the need for them really. But I suppose that is the difference between the US and England. One of my favourite robin williams quotes "âIn England, if you commit a crime, the police don't have a gun and you don't have a gun. If you commit a crime, the police will say "Stop, or I'll say stop again."â. Then again what is it like in Canada from what I know they have guns but far less deaths from shootings (for humans anyway hunting is huge)
That's right. Also, you don't need guns to kill. People could be walking around with knives, spears and swords. They could also use other weapons.
First off Killing some one with firearms is much easier then killing them with I knife not only does it take about 1000 times less work it also takes less will, which means if you had a knife you would really want to kill a person. And its also easier to defend your self from a knives or other weapon.
But for the most part I dont think banning guns is a good idea 1st off its the 2nd amendment. And people would still be able to get them illegally (just look at drugs). And another reason if anyone invades the manland it will be easier to drive them off (if that does every happen, which is prully wont). I do think that there should be regulations like the five day waiting period and stuff. Or if you are a felon or something you shouldnt be able to have a gun.

Technically it was unconstitutional to implement prohibition as not all states agreed, but they still did so. Plus not all codified constitutions are fool proof look at Venezuela now, Weimar Germany etc. Things can change, but you're right that in the US it probably wouldn't. Too many gun nuts.

One of the reasons there is less gun crime in the UK is because the police don't pack heat, and therefore crims don't feel the need to do so. There were experiments with armed police in Glasgow in the 90s. Guess what? Gun crime rose.
We have enough problems in London with knife crime. Throwing guns into the mix would be foolish to say the least.
Thanks for the quote there FireflyIV but that was a joke not an addition toi the discussion. Although knife crime is less of a problem outside of the capital and some other major cities I agree adding guns would be dumb.

I am telling you, if you ban guys you are not taking them out of the hands of the people who are going to use them to hurt people, because they can still get theirs illegally (like always most likely). You are only taking them out of the innocent people who just want to hunt and practice aim for sport (at a shooting range).

I agree. There should be some regulations; if you have a history of violent crime or have certain kinds of mental disorders that can lead to violent behavior, then you shouldn't be allowed to buy a gun. It won't stop gun crime, but it will help and let all the sane people buy a gun legally.

I don't want to ban guns, but like I said, regulate the ammo. Either that or put at least a two week waiting period in before actually giving the person a gun; including background checks by the local sheriff's department, F.B.I., etc.
