But even if that is that is the fact, rap is more inspirational than heavy metal.
Seriously what's inspiring in Heavy metal?

For example, Metallicas ballads are very inspirational. And Amon Amarth, which is a sort of heavy metal-ish Folk metal, has many good inspirational songs too (not ballads). However there are some heavy metal bands that aren't inspirational at all.
Not all rap artists or songs are inspirational either (some really suck), it depends. As well as it depends on the heavy metal band or song. So this doesn't really tell you anything.

I also think arguing which type of artistic expression is "best" just as pointless, but saying rap (by which you likely mean hip-hop music) is a subgenre of rock is factually incorrect.

funk and disco are also subgenres of rock. all three hip-hop, funk, disco, they all have no outside influences other than rock. thus they are subgenres of rock.

Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Pop, latin music, doo-wop. All influences on Funk and/or Disco.

Rock isn't nearly as broad a term as you think it is.

You agree with me that there's no point in judging entire genres of music, then turn around and say this.

What.
Yeah but I just cant stand people saying rock is better than rap.

[i]For example, Metallicas ballads are very inspirational. And Amon Amarth, which is a sort of heavy metal-ish Folk metal, has many good inspirational songs too (not ballads). However there are some heavy metal bands that aren't inspirational at all.

OK, show me one inspirational heavy metal song.

Its very weird having Rock Vs Rap cause they are so diff, Rap is a small Genre but Rock is very big u have, Alt Rock, Pop Rock, Punk Rock, Heavy Metal, Classical rock and Etc, so its not really i can chose upon since i like both, but if they were levelled to each other i would chose ROCK.

I won't be able to, because you've already made up your mind towards the genre.
It's as stupid to say that "all metal music isn't inspirational" as it is to say that "all yellow things are ugly". You make it a self-fulfilling standard by adhering to it.

Who even said that all music should try to be "inspirational", anyway? Some bands try to be aggressive, some bands try to be weird and original, some try to be groovy, some try to be epic.

But I still would try, if I knew what "inspirational" means to you.

Rap. Definitely rap. With rap, you can make the lyrics from your heart, and they can actually be heard, unlike in screamo. I have nothing against rock though. It's just screamo that I dislike. A bunch of weird people screaming about some toy they lost in first grade or something.

Arguably, that could be rock, like their first few songs, but I agree more rap.

Also, I believe rap is based off of Rock and Roll. Rock and Roll was created before rap...I think lol?

Nah, they're rock alright, they're just terrible. I understand that you'd want to blame them on someone else.
While they do incorporate rap in their songs they're still very much within the "nu-metal" cliché. Hence my saying that "Rap" isn't a genre but a skill; "hip hop" is the genre.

Also, I believe rap is based off of Rock and Roll.

Not even distantly. It comes from Soul, R&B, spoken word, Disco, gospel and such.

As for which came first... I'd guess Rock. I mean, it's been around since the 50's at least.
