George W. Bush was certaintly the worst, in my opinion

WTF? George Bush was elected by the people in the form of a democracy, He did not have all the power in his hands because He could not be approved by the senate that way....

Dictator like traits? Invading countries for power?

And Hitler was elected democratically as well btw. So really your definition of doctator is whoever you don't like. And every dictator had not had complete control. There is always a "senate" in the background. You'd be crazy if you thought 1 person can run the whole government

That would cause huge economic problems! And I do not see what reason he would have for massacring his own population to that degree.

They did have huge economic problems...lol

He killed approximately 20 million, including up to 14.5 million needlessly starved to death. At least one million executed for political "offenses". At least 9.5 million more deported, exiled or imprisoned in work camps, with many of the estimated five million sent to the 'Gulag Archipelago' never returning alive. Other estimates place the number of deported at 28 million, including 18 million sent to the 'Gulag'.

a person exercising absolute power, esp. a ruler who has absolute, unrestricted control in a government without hereditary succession.

That's the true definition of a dictator.

Although the word "dictator" is often used to describe someone tyrannical or authoritarian, a true dictator has absolute power.

So even if George W. Bush was the worst president in your opinion, he was never a dictator.

And Hitler was elected democratically as well btw.

Though he actually gained dictatorship sometime after he was elected.

Dictators are not always bad.

Precisely. Did you know that the word totalitarian was coined to mean a firm but well-meaning person leading the government? Now it has been twisted from its original meaning. And believe it or not, some people do like this form of government. The Chinese scholars in my school all approve of Hu Jintao and his government. They believe that if the Party or government can do a good job, why even bother having multiple parties that disrupt the government. But only if the party is efficient. The ruling government of my country has a virtual monopoly of control. And they do a wonderful job, so I believe it should stay the same way.

Yes, I do.

Dictatorships are acceptable, as long as the dictator is good. Sadly, many of the dictators which have ruled, have been oppressive in one way or another.

Through history the term "dictator" has came to be understood as a unjust, cruel and oppressive absolute ruler of a state.

Take out the cruel, unjust and oppresive part and you have the definition of a dictator.

BTW, that definition is from Dictionary.com

At time, multiple parties which cannot agree on matters causes conflict and problems.

for not accepting him as a leader and for not accepting communism.

I thik that is kind of over simplifying things. There are all sorts of theories on why he did it or even if he did do it.

Oh my goodness. Almost every dictators "election" was rigged, Hitler's was. Once Hitler had a few of his buddies in the government he made them Nazis, told them to rig the election, and then he was in power.

If you had read your textbooks, you would know that Hitler and the Nazi were elected to power during the Weimar Republic era which also had many other ruling parties such as the Social Democrats. Hitler was named Chancellor by the President himself. Only when President Hidenburg was dead, did he declare himself President himself, taking the title Fuhrer. After that, it was downhill all the way.

But he did come into power democratically, even in the loosest sense of the word.
