You know, this has been bugging me for about a year as I pieced it all together through rants in my brain. Ever since the slave ages, kids have not had full human rights in America. The closest to having full human rights was child labor, but that was something of slavery as it had tiny wages. Are children not human enough to have full human rights of freedom of speech, right to bear arms and earn a wages from doing something besides house chores?
1st Kids often are self centered and still havent yet leanred that they dont matter at all.(only a few years ago did i really really know this, it was kinda scary)
2nd They dont have a sense of self. they dont know what they really want or who they are (i dont even know yet).
Are kids not human to you, sir?
That would kind mean i wasnt human, and dont call me sir im only 15.
School is your training. We can't have an illiterate/numerically backwards working adult population now can we? You specialise later on in life once you have finished your education.
Kids probably don't have full rights because they depend on the shelter of their parents and they're not fully educated. I'm a kid too, but that's just probably the reason.

I'm laughing my head off. Yes, you have the self-centered jocks and popular little princesses, but when it comes down to many kids, its the exact opposite. You see the part of the kids population that makes itself be heard, most of the time negatively. I've accepted that I'm probably not going to end up doing much in the world except trying to survive, no matter how intelligent I may be. To 99.9999% (add however many 9's you'd like) of the world, I don't exist, let alone matter. But I deal with that. Sure, its a depressing thought, but the idea that most adults think all kids are self-centered is a little more depressing than that.
2nd They dont have a sense of self. they dont know what they really want or who they are (i dont even know yet).
Many adults don't either. They end up in jobs they hate, with people they hate, going from day to day just trying to make it through. This is true of far to many people to be generalized to just kids.

I knew that I was just a miniscule speck to society when I turned 5.

I am Nolan "Thoadthetoad" Gardipe and I know what I want, I want a decent job and to live in a 1 bedroom apartment and play video games in whatever free time I got. I am a human being and an entertainer.
That would kind mean i wasnt human, and dont call me sir im only 15.
In such case does this mean that you don't beleive you shouldn't have full human rights, despite that your DNA says you're a human?
Wow. AG kicked me out after I made a long-ass post on this.
I'm not typing all that out again.. frick. Okay - short version.
You may think you're really smart and mature, and you might be too - but think about the peers in your age group that fall into the.. 'regular' category. Would you trust them with all of the rights and priveleges that an adult gets? I wouldn't - most kids are dumb as hell.
It's unfortunate, but I wouldn't contravene the law to let a ton of irresponsible, unintelligent, immature people drive, buy liquor, buy guns, vote, just so that a handful of people who are ready for those responsibilities can have them a little early.

Im human but i dont support my self, i dont pay to go to school. I cost my parents prully a few 100 dollars a month to feed and stuff. I dont work that hard. Why should i have more 'rights' i dont even have to buy my own food!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha That is so far from the truth that it's laughable. --------

Which is why I think that the option should only be available to childen deemed intelligent and responsible enough to handle it.

The option shouldn't be available to any kid, no matter how smart. Plus, you can't legislate for the minority. It'd be too difficult to enforce. Plus, there is enough unemployment as it is. Expanding the workforce with uneeded workers makes no sense.
Childrens minds havent full developed i once used to be a child and as i grew up my mind is more mature and now im at the age where i can make decisions for my self that make sense.
Hmmm, children are as human as adults. They just are not mature enough to be trusted with all the adult mumbo jumbo.
Too many people here are thinking to deep into the issue.
Also, a child can't live without parrents. This debunks the whole "well maybe children can be trusted and treated like adults" thing that seems to be going around here. A baby most definately can not take care of itself, and when a baby can walk and talk and becomes a small child, it is not instantly ready to live like an adult. The child must be trained to live by their parrents. In fact, most teenagers are not even ready to take up adult responsibilities.
Anyway, like I said, too much thought is being put into this when the answer is quite obvious.

I'm in garde 9, but I'm in an acceleration program that lets you skip a few subjects in the first year of university. I find caucasiafro's struggles to prove his point rather funny. I mean, I am one of the top students of the whole da** SCHOOL. I deserve rights at about 16. I'm willing to wait, but 18 is too much. I see myself as mature now, and I am willing to wait the time, but the kids that aren't in the program, some of them (a little extreme, but, oh well) deserve to die. Now you're going to criticize me, but you don't know those guys I'm talking about. They seem retarded. They're like talking monkeys that smoke and do drugs every day. I'm good at math and you know what one of them asked me? What is the square root of an isosceles triangle? What kind of question is that? I go on to tell them that you can only root a number, but they don't listen. I don't know what my IQ is, but I know it's pretty high, but in my opinion, those guys are not human, and never will be. No rights for them!

My vision is more of specialised classes in school earlier on- not work. I would hate rl work :P

I guess grammar and spelling don't make sense to you, then. ---- Full-on ork ould be foolish- I am talking about specialised classes earlier on in school for people who want them.
