A little thing I noticed about most religions. If most religions say you are going to Hell if you don't follow their faith than aren't we all going to either Hell or Heaven for not following/ following said religions? Just wondering your thoughts on this and if anyone else has also noticed this.

I suppose that's one way to look at it. In my case, I probably wouldn't change my life if I decided to turn atheist. I mean, I'd have an hour more free time on Sunday, but other than that, religion doesn't prevent me from doing anything I want to do.

The point being that you make decisions that are influenced by your religious beliefs, and as such, your actions are somewhat limited than they would be otherwise.

I assume by the popularized god you mean a god that sends you to Hell based on your religious beliefs. If so, then no, there wouldn't really be much wrong with Hell. But in my Christian beliefs, it seperates good from evil, looking beyond faith. So you wouldn't go to Hell unless you were a bad person.
I also don't go by Pascal's Wager because either way I'd try to be a good person, and in my beliefs that's what gets you to heaven. Nothingness doesn't really scare me either, and if I'm wrong, oh well. My life is worth living regardless of religion.

In this instance the poplurazied view equates to going to hell if you are atheist, even if you are 'good'.

Well, that's true, but even if I was unlimited I probably wouldn't change much. Religion never really appeared to restrict me because I agreed with it, but for someone who feels differently it certainly could.

I don't go by that, and I am actually disgusted by those that do.

You want to go to heaven? Nice picture. Looks like a guy from hell. Dude just get over the fact that you fail and that statement I made before did make sense. What's your problem?

If you were not raised in a religious household you may not have acted the same, and that's the clincher.

No problem. I'm just posting, and you never explained how I fail, so I just wanted to know. How did that statement you made before make sense? Please explain, and if it does, I apologize. I only pointed out that your post could be interpreted to be offensive.
When I make posts in debate forums, I don't expect to always change the opinion of the person I respond to. I try to understand their way of thinking and display my own thoughts to them and others. If you really didn't care what I thought, you wouldn't be responding to me. Even if we disagree, I do care what you think, so that's why I'm responding.

You're probably right, but as long as I'm happy with my life, it doesn't matter that much to me what my life could've been.

I am a somewhat religious person, and I have to agree with some of these points. If I didn't believe in God I would have acted differently in many situations knowing that there are no future consequences.

I do not believe in God, nor in Hell...I dont think any of these two "sides" exist. It seems that the church is trying to put pressure on people that won't join them...

The entire point of religion is the Carrot and the Stick. If you listen to me, you will go to heaven, and if you don't you will go to Hell.

All the science fiction and voodoo is just to get people interested in the religion. Then you have more sheep for your flock, or people to do your bidding, or soldiers to fight your wars, or money to fill your pockets.

This is not debatable, don't argue about this.
