Today North Korea sent a message to the US, in the form of seven ballistic missiles. Obviously, they didn't hit anything, but it is still going to increase tension between the UN and North Korea.
What I'm wondering though, is why in the world they would launch missiles that they know aren't going to get close to the US. Also, North Korea isn't exactly the largest country, and if the US was to go to war with them it would be over very quickly. North Korea wouldn't be able to match the size of the army, and our own nuclear weapons could wipe them off the map if we chose to use them.
How do you feel about the situation? Will the US once again be police of the world, or will we for once make the UN deal with this on their own? Is Kim Jong Il just stupid, or is there a reason he spends millions of dollars to develop missiles, then sends them shooting into the ocean?
It's actually more around 6 million. It doesn't really matter how many people they have though, because of the technology we have. They could have a hundred million, but we'd still take them out with a few missiles.

I get what they were trying to say. What I don't understand is why they think that's going to scare us. They can't hit us. It's like a little kid saying that if you don't let them do what they way they're going to throw a ball at you. They probably won't even be able to throw it far enough, and if they did you'd catch it anyway. Just like we'd shoot them down.
North Korea has done this before, they want to see how far they can push the UN until they snap, they annoyed the US, were taking away there reward for not making nuclear weapons. The UN might be ignoring it so far.

Too bad the president and such can't do that without major criticism from the right wing. People just can't accept that we can't always be the world police.

Yeah but.... china has stopped supporting them, it's too big of a risk for them, So now NK has much less food, water, shelter, things they need, the US has also stopped rewarding them, o know they have almost no essential needs, and there not too big of a agricultural country, so there gonna have some problems.
There are always some country which does stupidities, so don't worry. About missiles, don't worry, a missile would never reach US, it has too many evolved antimissile system. Same goes for China and Iran.

I'm a visionary, and I can trully tell you what will happen.
When things will start go bad for over population, contamination, and countries as China want to have better live, this will happen: All our factories will be in countries like China for have less cost and better production for sell more units cheaper, and afterall, the mattery for do such things comes from countries in a poor way like Brasil. They'll stop selling and exchanging with the first world countries, and they'll the factories we all payed for produce and sell in our countries, for theirselves, in all ways. Or just some country that just want to close market to other countries. We'll have really little factories in our own countries, and same goes for the mattery we need for produce those units in the factories.
Then the real war will begin mate, economy or healthy, that will happen someday soon and that's why all people are already preparing. When they'll want it, that'll be their trick. They're growing as rats, and India same.
China is not India they have started being almost a developed country near the coasts, China has made billion worth investments in streets, bridges, ports airports and they are investing even outside their country. China is a country with huge potential and huge profit, they are very capable.
