Today North Korea sent a message to the US, in the form of seven ballistic missiles. Obviously, they didn't hit anything, but it is still going to increase tension between the UN and North Korea.
What I'm wondering though, is why in the world they would launch missiles that they know aren't going to get close to the US. Also, North Korea isn't exactly the largest country, and if the US was to go to war with them it would be over very quickly. North Korea wouldn't be able to match the size of the army, and our own nuclear weapons could wipe them off the map if we chose to use them.
How do you feel about the situation? Will the US once again be police of the world, or will we for once make the UN deal with this on their own? Is Kim Jong Il just stupid, or is there a reason he spends millions of dollars to develop missiles, then sends them shooting into the ocean?

They're all brainwashed to kill America though. We're the great enemy, and if they ever see an American they'll probably try to kill us. If we invade NK they're going to be helping the NK army in every way possible, which will cost us a ton of lives. It wouldn't be like in Japan, where the civilians wouldn't be involved in the war.
that is just not true. its their governement that tries to destroy the western world, or says so. the people have to struggle for their daily bread and have completly different problems than killing americans.

I believe that most civilians in NK are stupuid (if not all) because they dont have proper schooling therefore if you asked them a simple question (well simple to someone that went to school or non-druggies) they probably wont know it. Therefore I think most if not all NK's are stupid.
I'm not saying it's there fault. For example a baby from a rich family in let's say Canada is stupid (because it has no education and cannot talk legibly or walk).

what you are saying is incredibly stupid. only because people didnt go to school, does not make them stupid. they are just uneducated. they are still normally intelligent and developed people. they just dont have a platform to develop their mind potential and get knowledge to back it up.

I watched an interview once of someone who goes into NK and smuggles them out. When they come out they are surprised how different the outside world is. They're totally isolated, and have been for so long that no one doubts it. They believe that Americans are evil because the government has told them that for so long.
He forces them to serve and love him so they have to obey or they die...
A lot of them believe he is a god. I don't think they're aware that what is going on is wrong. Only recently have they been starting to see the truth.

They don't know anything else. We find it horrible because of how we live, compared to them we live like royalty. They don't know anything else, so they accept it.

Guys, you aren't getting the point. They are isolated, and all they know is Kim Jong-Il's propaganda. We only find it horrible because of how we live, but they've lived like that for so many generations that it is 100% normal. Absolutely brainwashed. Only recently have people started getting anti-Jong progoganda into the streets. Flyers and such, but if the people touch it they are killed.
Interesting side note about how much Jong really hates his people: He will put flyers in the streets with his face on them (which is a God to them), but the text will be US propaganda. So if they touch it they will be killed, and if they leave it on the streets they'll be killed. They're going to be killed no matter what.

I think you should start reading about history of North Korea from 1990-2009 and start watching TV what happens to North Koreans if they disagree with their president or try to run away to South Korea to have a better life

Well we don't live there...
So it would be kind of hard, I'm just basing it on what I've heard from people who come back from there.
I know they all don't like it, but it's still the majority that accepts it. If they disagree they die, but most don't disagree. Like I said, they've only started disagreeing in larger numbers recently.
