Spiders; the creepy insects with eight legs.

Though there are over 40,000 different species of spiders, each is different in its each individual way. They may scare you, or even interest you, they are majestic creature and masters of architecture. With web designs ranging from funnels to flat sheets, to even none at all, they manage to capture prey with skill full stealth and agility.

Even though the thought of these creepy critters strikes fear in many, the title is undeserved. Spiders usually don't attack unless defending themselves, their young, or their territory. Even the deadliest: the Black Widow refrains from attacking unless being squished. However, some do attack at random, as I was a few hours ago.

I was bitten by what I believe was either a sac spider, or a housing crab spider. Right now I'm not very sure as it was brief and I squished it the second I felt it. However, the bite has developed into a bit of what would appear to be a mosquito bite, however that is just the early stages of the sac spiders bite. It is fairly itchy.

So I have come to ask you, what is your take on the title that spiders have been given, and what causes you to think this?

And thus, I leave you with this:

How cute. :3

^ do you even know what a troll is? o.O

i am have a kind of phobia towards them. they usually come near me because games'n stuff are in the basement. i can't stand having them near me partly because there's always a risk of a bite, so i take a sock that's lying around and squash'um with that. i do like watching them if they're outside though.

Spiders, I love them. They keep the fly population down. And are pretty to look at. And fuzzily cute.

Of course some are also deadly venomous, but we don't have any of those around where I live. So spiders are a "yay" thing.

And they're fun to have crawling across your fingers when they're making web~ Entanglement in tiny threads~~~

Good thing too that there aren't any venomous ones where I live. Pity the spiders are so small. Fuzzily cute Zoph?? You underestimate them XD

Now I feel bad for smashing jumping spiders when I was younger. T_T Well, call me heartless, but it was fun trying to pin them down with my pencil case.

Yipe... aren't banana spiders soopah-venemous, poison?

*Shudder* I had a bad experience with a widow once... Let's just say it involved a terrible boy scout camp and the public toilet.

But I'm not afraid of them. just widows. And I occasionally freak if I find a horde of daddy-long-legs crawling around in an outhouse (Like they oh-so-often will... Seriously... There can be fricking thousands of those things in one toilet).

I'll take it that you meant Black Widow, and not widow as in someone who lost her husband.

Well...widows do live under toilet seats and tend to bite erm...ermm...unmentionables.

My friend found a gigantic spider( one and a half fist sizes) under his desk when he put his hand under to grab a book. Gotcha!

Yeah. I don't remember if their legs are too long or if they just don't have fangs, but nonetheless, you'll never get bitten by a daddy long legs.
