We really need explicit labeling on games that have vulgar language, and extreme gore.
I was letting my nephew play on the site wo is 6 by the way when he spotted game named Oozing Forever. Seems like a fun game huh? Innocent and a great game for a child.
When the opening comes up it says Sh*t and other vulgar words. When I saw those I immediatley turned the screen off because he was trying to read it. It just came to mind that we need these labels on our games so we know what we are getting ourselves into when it comes to the content of the games.
Why are their vulgar words in games without warning when here on the forums we can't say words like that? It makes no sense but all I'm asking for is warning labels on the game like they do in the back of video games with the reason for the label.
i agree with Jbgarza2010 that they should put labels on games because younger people (12-) do come on this site and its not healthy for there minds to see vulgar language and gore. Also the Evony Ads some of them are alright and some are bad but its still not good for younger people (12-) to see. So there should be labels.
Go to a younger kids gaming site if that is what you want
A lot of the good games are only on armorgames. I have been playing on this site since I was 9. Most 9 year olds would probably be scarred for life if they played dark cut 2 or 3. Also, to most people, the terms and conditions page is another checkbox when you sign up to a website and they wouldn't think to read rules for a games site.
Yes, say you are 16 years old. You say whatever, agree to the terms of conditions.
Your little 8-year old brother goes on the same computer and accesses those games by going directly to the site, a Google search, whatever. There's nothing as a warning then.
That would be a sufficient warning that people would see on just about every game, since the writer (whatever) has to describe the game/ game controls.
Yes that is true, but not all game developers will want to put that in their game description because it might drive people away from playing the game!
That's why AG should determine whether or not it has objectionable content, then place the Explicit Label there.
Yeah I basically agree with everyone. This site is intended for people 13+, and although the rules clearly state that there is to be no profane content, the mods can't keep track of everything. There is violence in just about all of the games in the Action and Adventure categories, and many games with blood. That's why it's supposed to be PG-13. I think there should be labels, since some games might be disturbing for some of our youngest and most sensitive players, but you'd be hard pressed to find any game on this site completely 6-year-old friendly. So just don't take him to the site, or if you choose to anyway, try playing a game before letting him play it. However, I repeat that this is a PG-13 site, and my advice is to take him to a different website, one made for kids his age, or even buy him a CD game. I recommend Funbrain.com. It's completely kid-friendly.
